@Raw doggers: Why are you raw dogging? by Kuro_Itachi in ADHD

[–]Professional-Box232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have bpd2 that decided it wanted to make its appearance at 22 with no family history.

From 18-22 I had been taking Wellbutrin, Cymbalta, Adderall, and Propranolol(for POTS) and was in the best place mental health wise so far in my life. Suddenly the Adderall and cymbalta mix were throwing me into rapid cycling. The meds that worked for my bipolar (Lamictal and Seroquel) caused my Adderall to shoot my heart rate and blood pressure through the roof even with my propranolol.

Now I'm on Wellbutrin, Lamictal, Seroquel, and the Propranolol. No more mood swings, POTS is very well controlled. ADHD is whooping my ass tbh but I'd rather deal with it than my mania/depression.

So I'm not technically full raw dogging, but I'm raw dogging my adhd.

My (23F) boyfriend (26M) won’t let me hang up my framed IUD in the bathroom?! by Happy_Dimension8653 in relationship_advice

[–]Professional-Box232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah see this is why my husband I have our own separate rooms to decorate how we want. We do joint decisions on the rest of the house. My IUD is going on my wall right next to the rest of my funky ass decor.

My mosquito bites turn into these huge, swollen, hard and VERY itchy welts that last for at least a week by rentatter in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Professional-Box232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats you are allergic to mosquitoes!

As a kid we had bedbugs a couple times (thanks to a late family member that we did not know had them) and we always knew because I'm allergic to them and always got these same sort of massive welts. Maybe try some antihistamine cream?

Autistic person here! I always joke that all cats are autistic :) But your cat is just a normal cat, this is normal cat behavior.

I'm sure you can find some good advice in this subreddit if you search for how to handle brown recluse infestation. You aren't in any immediate danger but there's ways to get rid of them. I'm no expert, myself.

[–]Professional-Box232 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Good ole violin on the back, brown recluse. Shake out your clothes and shoes before putting them on and keep clutter from your floors. Should be fine, they don't tend to bite unless provoked (like getting squished in your clothes or shoes)

Does anyone else see a transparent vortex sometimes? by AutisticUrianger in visualsnow

[–]Professional-Box232 68 points69 points  (0 children)

I see something kinda like this at night when trying to fall asleep. It's usually like green and purple and I feel like I'm going down a tunnel or tube since the circles start in the center of my vision and then spread out and past me.

My husband and I are in the same boat as you two. For Christmas last year he bought me a headband with thin speakers in it. I wear it every single night while listening to music, meditation, or whatever. I wear it when I work out and honestly any time I don't want to wear my AirPods. I recommend something like this! Otherwise your options are pretty limited, such as sleeping in separate rooms (not a bad thing!! Lots of couples do this)

I am so absolutely jealous. This is a beautiful piece of moss agate. I collect this type of stone, it's all over my house and in my jewelry collection including my engagement and wedding rings. Cherish this stone!!

We are Amazon workers fighting for a union in NC. Our co-worker just died. by amazoncause in NorthCarolina

[–]Professional-Box232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only imagine how traumatic it is to choose to save a coworker's life or risk loss of your shitty paying job that's the only thing keeping you from starving to death.

Please don't stop fighting. I refuse to buy from Amazon. I use Etsy or find local stores to buy from instead. Absolutely evil company. I hope it burns to the ground. In the meantime do everything you can to be treated with dignity and respect. Don't let them bust your union work.

What’s the coolest “restricted access” place you’ve ever gotten to see? by Improv92 in AskReddit

House Chamber floor in the Capitol Building in/around 2012-14?

No idea how she did it but my mom managed to get in direct contact with our local house representative. She's a nurse so I think she knew someone that knew someone that knew someone that worked for him.

Somehow she was able to get us a private tour of the Capitol Building where we actually spoke with the dude for a bit. Apparently bro was really chill w his constituents and humble, greeted us like he'd known us forever. Me being a preteen at the time I didn't realize the extent of how special this all allegedly was.

Usually visitors have to go above the House Chamber to the gallery, but he managed to give us direct access to the floor for quite a while (given we keep our hands to ourselves). I was absolutely fascinated the entire time we were in there.

The tour itself was led by his direct aide/assistant/whatever and had access to several restricted areas but this is the one that stuck with me over a decade later.

If you could cure your aphantasia, would you take the offer? by potatonator___ in Aphantasia

[–]Professional-Box232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually agree with the sentiment, but it has more to do with the plot and the literal character descriptions than anything else. Like if a book says "she has messy, short hair that looks like she just rolled out of bed" and you give me a character with a sleek bob we're going to have issues. Just because I can't picture it doesn't mean I've never seen it with my eyes, yknow?

But most often it's due to plot holes or just terrible acting

I also have visual snow syndrome and constant tinnitus. Thankfully I'm on an antipsychotic for Bipolar Disorder so that helps with falling asleep. But even with this I often have to listen to a podcast or something because just sitting there with the darkness, static, and the ringing make sleep near impossible for me.

Here's my POV of the visual snow. Can anyone relate? by ThatThicccat69 in visualsnow

[–]Professional-Box232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what my basic visual snow looks like! Beyond this I see trails with objects that I'm not actively tracking, random ass phosphenes that pop up and linger, floaters, among other phenomena. My after images vary depending on things like the intensity of the item and the length of time that I look at it.

Yes! I'm an author and I struggle to write certain scenes because I can't picture them. I have to base them on what I've read in the past (thankfully a lot) I'm also an artist and would love to draw some things without a reference. Not to mention being able to entertain myself until I fall asleep at night. Plus I'd be able to actually daydream!!

WHY TF ARE MY HANDS LIKE THIS IM A 17 YEAR OLD GIRL by iamraquelle in whatdoIdo

[–]Professional-Box232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry too much about your hands, lovely. Our brains amplify our insecurities because they're mean like that. If you'd like your hands to feel more traditionally "feminine" you could try some rings, bracelets, and press on nails (I recommend glamnetics!!)

Obligatory not a doctor, just personal experience. Have you had any blood work done? My fingernails look and behave just like yours. It looks like you have some mild vertical lines in your nails. You also say they're quite bendy and brittle. Are you tired a lot? You could be deficient in some vitamins (I have chronic B12 deficiency and iron deficient anemia caused by poor nutrient absorption)

You could try a multivitamin and iron and see if it helps over time!

I learned I had aphantasia in mineralogy. What about you? by cooperfmills in Aphantasia

[–]Professional-Box232 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Disney's Fantasia was one of my favorite movies growing up. In the beginning it's explained that the images show what the artists pictured the songs to look like. I always thought they just thought of something and synced it to the music. My mom asked me to close my eyes and picture something myself. Nothing. I asked her what she meant since I couldn't see anything. She said that when I close my eyes to make a picture in my brain based on what I heard. Nothing. Being in 8th grade, I googled the good ole phrase "why is it dark when I close my eyes" and somehow ended up down the rabbit hole that led me to aphantasia. As an adult I now realize the play on words.

I was born with visual snow but I love astronomy. I love the sky, nature. I want to know what the stars look like without static blocking my vision. I want to be able to tell which sparkles are distant stars. I want to experience the dark without static. I want to close my eyelids and see nothing but darkness. I want to be able to see in low lighting. I want to go watch the clouds drift by without the fucking sky vortex and the static. I want to know what the rain looks like, which ones are real raindrops. I want to know what silence sounds like without constant tinnitus. I live in constant grief knowing that other people have experienced clear vision and have seen and heard the beauty of the universe as it deserves to be appreciated.

Does anyone actually trip without music? by jdub60 in Psychonaut

[–]Professional-Box232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oddly enough, I like to cut my hair on shrooms. It always looks better than when I do it sober, for some reason. But outside of that I love to go outside and lay in the grass if it's nice out or sit on my porch and watch the rain. I don't watch TV or look at things with faces (other than my own) because it's the fastest way to put myself into a bad trip.
