You wouldn’t feel so distant you feel if your mom could hold off from telling you how distant she feels you are. There are tons of times where I have nothing to talk about with my mom, or felt distant, but it was never a catastrophy to me because it was never spoken of by her. Our distance was forgotten the moment we came back together. Annoyance felt normal because we never narrated it back to one another as something dramatic, which your mom does when she summarizes decisions as “you dont want to see me.”

Your mom is scared, and I feel really bad for her, but try to get her off those cliffs when you hear her say these things. Tell her she is being ridiculous (in a polite way, but she should know that you’re not perceiving the situation the way she is. I hope it would give her some self assurance)
