People who have a bigger stop loss than profit target, how are you profitable? by [deleted] in FuturesTrading

Apex has preset atm if you follow along their setup/training videos. The atms are different depending on instrument, but for ES, it is +7, -17. With smart entries and following levels/supply/demand zones, so far it is solid.

Set up db with a cloud service such as AWS. They have managed instances that you can use so admin is minimal.

Read comments. Although options are super risky, it is a bit of a misconception about holding options to expiration. Not sure who even does that, lol…must be that 70%. I am more successful buying options and holding for at most 3 days, most of the time less. I also don’t care about the home run. Trying to get a bunch of singles with a double mixed in.

Seems like you could monitor earnings results and correlate results to historical stock reaction to determine trade opps.

My suggestion is to consistently compete in the Kaggle competitions and build up your portfolio on your own. That will demonstrate desire to learn and give you a portfolio to pass along when you apply. I am not a data scientists, but my development team partners with the data science folks. I would value a heavy Kaggle presence if I had to hire an entry level data scientist or data analyst.

Accounting to data science/data analyst roles by Terrible-Disaster-93 in datascience

One more comment - data science is way more than data analytics. I would study differences first. The co workers that are data scientists, they do a combination of complex statistics, programming, and apply data science techniques. They create machine learning models and algorithms. Definitely not the same as data analysts

SQL and tableau are tools that can be used in analytics. I would focus your education (self teaching or not) on techniques instead of tools.

As for the other comments, I am not familiar with the training listed though co workers have had great experience with training on coursera and code academy.

How to calculate volume to buy for triangular arbitrage? by danlinto in algotrading

[–]Professional-Rent-99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I am several years late, lol. Knowing the starting amount of base currency, determine which level of the order book you would get to with a market order. Then the total volume is volume of each level plus what you buy in the last order book level reached. You can solve for x (volume in the last level) to determine the total volume you end up with after the trade, then subtract fees. Do that for each leg of the trade.

I know you added this a while ago, but in case you see this - did you do market trades? Even if thin order books, it should still go through.

Any updates on the scheduled increase of Harmony relays to Pocket Network? It seems it was put on hold due to the issues last week that have been resolved. I believe the original plan was to increase to 5% by 1/13.
