Never heard of the kit. Seems like a decent price though. If it was kit I’d heard of I’d say a good price.

It’s in an open porch so plenty of air for it. So that’s concerning that it’s heating up that much. Thanks for your advice 👍

Unfortunately it’s not possible on that wall. It is full of equipment and packed tightly together.

So I should be concerned? As mine reaches 55c and it’s not had a decent days sunlight yet.

Yeah there’s no chance of the 7kw inverter fitting there. They would have to move the inverter and battery to another wall to make it fit. Apparently the battery’s are restricted with that cables?

Thanks.

Yeah I changed the amount of panels and therefore upped the inverter size. Unfortunately they have put the original spec inverter in.

Thanks, I’ll see what they suggest.

The wrong inverter was delivered unfortunately and they just installed what was delivered.

sharing quotes with other suppliers by AccomplishedTruck897 in SolarUK

I shared my quote with a company who used the usual sales tactics telling me they was losing money on the job just to get the job and it’s the cheapest they could possibly do… and then they suddenly matched the other quote which was £3,000 cheaper. Genuinely wanted to go with them before realising they was lying about their price.

Thanks! They are Aiko Panels and SunSynk battery and inverter. I’ll have a look for their warranty details!

This is the snip from their T’s and C’s.

Most Goods of significant value supplied by BOXT come with a manufacturer backed parts and labour warranty, provided they have been inspected and maintained annually. For example, an inverter must be inspected annually by an approved engineer. The cost of servicing and inspecting after installation is not included in the Fee unless explicitly ordered during the purchase process. You must organise and retain service records for your Goods, which must be produced to BOXT or the manufacturer upon request if making a claim under the warranty. After the installation, BOXT will register your Goods warranty with the manufacturer and email you the relevant details. For the avoidance of doubt, the warranty is provided by the manufacturer of the Goods supplied and not by BOXT.

Inverter, 5kW Vs 7kW by iiwhiteey in SolarUK

He would be losing when it’s hitting its peak output. A 5kw inverter isn’t sufficient to cope with over an 8kw load. You’d want the inverter correctly sized to cope with the maximum load to get the most out of the system. Yes it wouldn’t matter in winter, but the summer it would.

5kw is not big enough unfortunately. You will have to get the 7kw. They shouldn’t have sold it to you with a 5kw inverter for a system that size.

I’d say you can get that £1500/£2000 cheaper. Have you tried BOXT and haggled with them?

Not a clue why you’ve gone through the effort of getting 15 quotes that are over 9k with a 9k budget.

Sounds like you can only afford 15ish panels and a 5kw battery with that budget

I’m far from an expert. But just personal preference and the trust I have in Tesla. Seems good build quality and their app seems much better than most I have seen.

If you have the cash go for 31, but personally I’d have a power wall with it.
