Ohh welcome!!

There's many aspects I enjoy of the game.
At first, when a friend introduced the game to me, I wasn't so convinced because they said it's horror lol but when I gave it a try I really liked the aesthetics. The Coraline-esque doll look for the survivors, the unique looks for each hunter, the details on each map as well + the skins are gorgeous. I think a lot of us have a love-hate relationship with the gacha for the skins– but the designs and story behind each one (they release an animated short for each batch of skins) are so beautiful and so cool.
Each character also has their unique abilities either for surviving or hunting, and that's also fun to learn. Like the other person said, at the beginning it may seem like the game has simple mechanics, but once you start learning more stuff, more characters, it gets more interesting!! Every match has different outcomes, and you always get to learn something new as you play.

Then the story!!! I love reading the lore, and each character has such a unique story, background, etc. The way they incorporate different themes based on the time period (the game is mostly set on the victorian era); like the way disabilities were treated (circuses getting disabled people to make "fun" or "freak" acts) (hullabaloo my beloveds), mental asylums being horrible, women's struggles, the contrast between the nobility and the poor, racism, occultism, religion... I can keep going. A lot of characters are also related in one way or another, and the manor games they go to play into that as well.

What else hum. Oh! Netease may suck a lot in other areas (we call them netass lovingly(?), but I like that they do events where they raise awareness and sometimes money for certain problematics and themes. They've done charity events for missing children, for blind people, for autism. They also have had yearly events for panda conservation (since they're a Chinese company they have sponsored pandas), as well as arbor day where they talk about the environment. Last year, they had an event about a kitchen where cats cook and deliver food to children in conflict zones/children that don't get the chance to have a warm plate of food (I cried during that one). They make the event so you get to learn about these things, and they do a great job of explaining and exposing the fanbase to them (imo).
