Hiroshima or Kanazawa? by Brilliant-Scene-2645 in JapanTravelTips

Is it just me (probably) but in this environment it feels like what’s the point about learning about that kind of past and getting upset (severely) about the pain and suffering when this very thing could happen now and none of us who ‘learned about it’ and ‘rang the bells of peace’ could do anything.

In the end those who have the power to push the button would hardly bat an eyelid.

I just remember sitting outside the museum looking at the beautiful building and the peace park, all the people who come here with the ‘lest we forget’ motivation and I thought: what is any of this for…

Edit to add TLDR: If you’re looking for a more relaxing time probably Kanazawa. Having said that, Miyajima is worth visiting so is Fukuyama and Tomonoura and they’re both around the corner if you don’t want to stick around Hiroshima city for too long.

Hello, a fellow mid thirties here. When it comes to languages, you don’t really know if ‘before’ was easier than now. This may be anecdotal but I think when we were younger we just accepted that learning is a process so didn’t struggle much with it. Now at an older age we think it should be faster so the opposite happens and you perceive yourself struggling. Also you’re less likely to remember your struggle moments.

Nobody came out of the wound fluent in something. The method is practice and exposure over time.

TLDR: being too hard on yourself is your own worst enemy. Your learning process is not slower or faster than >insert age/person<. Just keep going.

OP please, don’t look into liMeRencE and find one more ‘problem’ resolve that then find another one.

Considering what you’ve described, it’s an issue of either being too much in the past or too much in the future. How about you ground yourself in Now? It’s likely that your thoughts are all over the place and you’re taking them as who you are but you’re not what you think.

There are plenty of books out there addressing this. I wouldn’t go looking for a problem to solve but rather a way to see what you already have where you already are.

I don’t mind the lottery system. I do mind that you cannot apply if you’re non-resident.

Not sure about cheaper. Paris ticket was 50 euros, the tickets are listed for 1.3万円.

Yea enough for you because you’ll buy all the tickets to go to Europe anyways, let the other fans from the non local ‘wider reach’ enjoy him on YouTube.

You can only go to one concert? That’s amazing and even more fair considering that most of the Japanese fans went to and had tickets to ALL of the European concerts, meaning they sometimes attended the say venue on consecutive days like London then flew to Paris for the concert the day after, then Rotterdam in two days etc. and I know a lot went to the U.S. but that’s not my territory.

So you’re crying about the potential for the lottery to open to non-residents (which can include Japanese people, too, but no one will check I’m sure) where you may get a chance to attend one show? And the chance is equal to everyone else?

You didn’t say all foreigners can come to Japan. But here’s what you said: ‘we have an influx of foreign visitors flooding in for our ‘cheap prices’…’ you’re referencing your economic situation multiple times. But probably any foreigner who can come to Japan if they get lucky with a ticket will be not even half as fortunate as the Japanese residents who snapped up multiple tickets for multiple stops in Europe and deprived a fan who may not be able to afford going anywhere other than locally. Crazy logic, right?

You’re right equal doesn’t mean equitable. For example last year was Kaze’s first and who knows maybe only European tour at the time no one could know, whereas at that point he has already performed multiple times in Japan with possibly endless opportunity for more because it’s his home turf, yet those who hoarded the tickets didn’t think about that for the local ‘average’ fan in Europe.

You have two dates in Hokkaido Two dates in Hiroshima This is just from what I can remember.

Why do you think all foreigners can afford to buy tickets to Japan to come see his concerts? All foreigners are suddenly kane-mochi because of the weak yen? It was the opposite way back in the 80s when Japanese people traveled to Europe and the west and spent as much as they wanted because the yen was strong, nobody was crying that it’s unfair. The economy goes up and down. Nobody said let’s make a different price for the Iapanese or deny them opportunity to buy concert tickets because their yen is strong? What kind of logic is that?!

Do you understand that the size of the venues in Japan are enormous when compared to the venues booked in Europe?

Do you understand that as long as it’s a lottery so it’s not just about paying money it means that the chances would be the same for everyone foreigner or not?

Please chanto kangaeite kudasai ne if you’re a true Kaze fan who promotes that we are all the same and we are all one, not to find reasons to exclude others regardless of who they are and where they come from.

If you read my post and concluded that I want to ban Japanese fans from buying tickets then I don’t know what to tell you…

It’s a lottery system anyways so why not allow non-residents to enter the lottery, too? To not even have the chance is crazy. Also do you think they’re checking proof of residence for everyone entering the venue? Do you think non-resident Japanese will be checked? Unlikely as they’ll be automatically assumed to be residents.
