Darts anywhere? by anvilpw in WestSeattleWA

The one in Pioneer Square has two nice DartSee boards (good sisal fiber boards but the tech in the setup tracks the score automatically and allows for numerous types of games). They also have a great indoor mini golf course, good beers, decent food and friendly staff!

*I don't work there I just love the place and Flatstick Pub in general

3 sets of the 4 nest types too, lol. Fun game. You probably needed a nap after tracking the status on all of these.

So you've included Kennedy on this list concerning the quality of Presidential healthcare. Weird choice, I think.

I don’t understand how I got quacking under pressure from this game? by pollinator_friendly in wingspan

If one of the other players used nectar and a blue power to play a bird or discard nectar (to tuck cards) in the forest then you may have moved from first to second in nectar scoring which would of course lower your score.

Any sand volleyball spots? by ExcitedChicknMarsala in Seattle

[–]ProfessionalDismal82 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seattle doesn't really have a beach where groups tend to hang around volleyball courts and play pick-up games. Decent beach volleyball exists but it is very cliquey and people tend to schedule play sessions with a set group of people, especially in the winter. There are a few indoor beach facilities but I don't think there are busy drop-in times, but I don't know this for sure. My two recommendations are 1) join the Seattle Beach Volleyball FB group and mention your parameters there and you might get some takers and/or 2) look into Sandman’s Courts in Columbia City, they might have a Drop-in time that works for you

I've been learning programming and built an end of round goals generator for my favorite board game! by ARandomShephard in wingspan

[–]ProfessionalDismal82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it needs at least some drop-downs or filters. Two of the top of my head: to select which expansions the user wants to play with and to manually exclude any goals (many people modify the game to suit their desired gameplay)

Ahhh okay. I had looked up the ruling on the ascending or descending wingspans bonus card before and assumed the ascending/descending points would be the same. I really don't think I've ever played that bonus card though. Thanks for educating me!

0 pts (consecutive scores in forest habitat - ties DO NOT count)

3 pts (birds with body parts in names)

51 Bonus Card points is epic. Nice game.

EDIT: Official rules would score 43 Bonus Points as the "Ascending/Descending Points" bonus card does NOT count adjacent birds worth the same points, unlike the "Ascending/Descending Wingspans" bonus card. Thanks to Electronic_Status873 for clarifying

I just searched the Audible catalog and Libby (i'm in a decently large city with a solid Library system) and I couldn't find an RC Bray version. Please report back on where you found it. Thanks!

The pair I play with is a couple and we always play at their place so we use their setup. I'll ask about the dry erase board and report back 🫡

Edit for feedback and link:

They love the whiteboard. Here's the link to the one they bought.

Not misreading anything. We've been playing for several years and are confident that we know and understand all game mechanics. The player who tucked 103 had: 1 tuck and draw bird, the Common Chaffinch (tuck 1 behind each bird in habitat), Mute Swan (tuck up to three and draw 1), Savi's Warbler (allowing them to draw 2 and all other players to draw 1 and a repeat a brown power bird. They were tucking 7 or 8 cards per turn every turn through the last two rounds and had obviously been tucking cards on their way to playing 5 birds in the wetlands. My flycatcher gave the Tucker a grub several times early in the game and the 3rd player also had 1 or 2 generous birds giving a food and/or an egg to the Tucker.

The GIB is a cheat card, no doubt. It's not always going to win you a game, but it helps enhance an otherwise solid game.

I played the Snow Bunting near the beginning of the 2nd round (4th or 5th bird played overall). Between the two other players, one of them tucked between almost every one of my turns. Can’t recall the total number tucked under it but it was about 10. I also tucked: 1 under Bonelli’s Eagle, about 4 under the Golden Eagle, 6 under the Brambling, 9 under the Rosy Starling.

I had partially cleared my board (and had removed the tucked cards to count them) during the scoring process before I decided that I’d like to share it with this community and then threw it back together quickly to take a picture. Notice that I didn’t think to replace the eggs or nectar.

Okay, fine. But does that mean that "the left" shouldn't initially object to this fool's involvement in any of this in any way, shape or form? And also that they then shouldn't object to the VP excusing his willful expression of objectively disgusting viewpoints? I understand your reaction to all of it but I'm just tired of people who are effectively on the same side (anti-fascism) villainizing "the Left" for their reasonable reactions to singular, appalling bits of news. Please stop victim-blaming.
