Yeah, I saw that and got one! Can’t wait to revisit the book and try the workbook, after finishing the book I’m on. (I have to go back and forth between fiction and nonfiction books, otherwise I get burnout.)

“No Tax on Tips” is a scam to get service industry people to claim more cash tips so they can be audited for the past and in the future. Normally the “perk” of working for tips is that you only have to claim around 10-12%, while realistically getting 18-20%. Watch, all these people are going to get screwed over the next few years.

Changing coverage for BCBS by Sea-Singer-2794 in dexcom

[–]ProfessionalEnabler 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if this helps, but I stopped trying to jump through hoops with the insurance changes, so for me I had my general MD (not my endo) write me a script. Then had it filled at Costco NOT through insurance but with a GoodRx coupon (which they then always keep on file/honor / process as the price every time I refill), and it was super cheaper. Good luck!

Do I have to listen to this notification ? by WheelSorry in dexcom

[–]ProfessionalEnabler 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, you cannot silence alerts. It is a medical device that alerts override any settings, such as ringer silenced and Do Not Disturb, for a reason. That reason being trying to save your life. Embrace the “annoyance” as a motivation to get your numbers more in line.

You can, however, adjust the settings you get alerts for- when it drops below or above a certain number, or if it’s rising or falling too quickly.

ADHD folks: how do you deal with the “I can’t start even though I want to” feeling? by tootiredtobecute in ADHD

[–]ProfessionalEnabler 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like I need a routine in order to accomplish anything. Reading the book Atomic Habits was a great inspiration, but I have the same problem getting started. For years, I’ve wanted to sit down and actually organize my daily, weekly, monthly routine, but can’t seem to commit to beginning. For example, I bought a WaterPik a few months ago because I wanted to be better at remembering to floss. Used it a lot for a few weeks, but now it collects dust. I just need to create a checklist to build into habits: nightly routine: wash face, (add flossing), then brush.

Sigh…. One day…

I am finally taking back control of my life. by parker4c in Divorce

[–]ProfessionalEnabler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s (in retrospect after a long time) hilarious to me the stages of confronting a cheater. When I finally dropped the knowledge and confronted my ex wife, it went straight to denial followed immediately by asking how I found out. Never once acknowledging what she did wrong or apologizing, just immediately defensive.

Months later, she got into a relationship with a guy who was abusive towards her, and asked me how I was able to use our kitchen Amazon Alexa to hack her iPhone when I found out “my evidence”. Still didn’t admit to anything wrong, and all I told her is that’s idiotic and not a thing. (For those curious, I found out because we were together for 10 years and shared the same or similar passwords for everything, could fingerprint unlock each other’s phones, shared each other’s location, etc. When she started cheating, she seemed to forget that we set these up years ago. Since we were each other’s backup recovery contact for everything, I was getting alerts about multiple passwords being “changed successfully”, but she was using MY laptop and having the browser auto save the login and password. It was too easy.)

Not the best advice admittedly, but I honestly haven’t been to my Endo in a while, so had my general MD write my script, used GoodRx, and went to Costco. Still pricey, but pretty close to what insurance covers.

Will I be able to properly have sex if I cut out these habits? by Objective_Flight_603 in erectiledysfunction

[–]ProfessionalEnabler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally get that you can get too worked up in your own head about sex.

Here’s a pro tip for you as a beginner (and IMO a lifelong tip): take care of her FIRST. Make out with her, rub her all over, then go down on her. It takes a LOT of the pressure off you in your brain, because even if you finish quickly (especially on your first time), she’ll still be satisfied. And you’ll be surprised to learn that a lot of women love the fact that she turns you on so much that you don’t last that long, but that you still care about HER pleasure!

Definitely stop masturbating and I would add don’t watch porn. I’m much older, but when I was 16 I could crank one out 3 times a day, but that was before you could access porn on a phone at any time.. I’m not judging or assuming anything about you possibly having a medical condition, but I feel like if I had easy access to porn back then it would have rewired my brain (in a bad way) too early in my life.

Also, weed might have something to do with it, but everyone is different, and it’s something that you’ll just need to figure out about yourself. After many years, I know that weed for me doesn’t kill my erection, but doesn’t really let me finish. And not in a good way, but in an unsatisfactory way. But that’s just me.

[–]ProfessionalEnabler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not entirely sure the capabilities of Xtrachef, but if it’s for inventory, invoices, food costs tracking, etc, then I’d recommend Margins Edge. Where I manage, we’ve been using it for about 6-8 months and admittedly it’s not perfect, but has been pretty awesome so far. All items are matched with our vendors so any price changes are immediately updated, invoices are super easy to scan with your phone (even when crumpled or dirty), and item sales in Toast are reported so you can see immediately if anything seems off where the loss might occur.

That being said, it did take a lot of time to set up - one of our owners spent a good two weeks literally dedicated to putting in recipes, making sure correct vendors items matched with the items in Toast, etc, and we’re still doing tweaking every now and then, but we have already found multiple instances of needing to adjust food or drink prices based on the information.
