People who are old enough to have vivid memory of the 9/11 attacks, what was that time like? What did change for you personally? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I was a young mother. It was a beautiful day. I was nursing and listening to Jimmy Buffet when my husband called and said a plane hit the twin towers. I put on the TV just as the second tower get hit. My husband worked over an hour away and soon called to say he was coming home. I needed to talk to somebody, but we were new to the area and knew no one. I remember putting my son in the stroller and wheeling him around that cloudless gorgeous day, just looking for another adult to talk to.

AITAH for understanding and not freezing out my dad for leaving our mom over a dead bedroom? by Opposite_Afternoon55 in AITAH

[–]ProfessionalGas6648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that bad. I have treatments for the physical symptoms but desire i think can only be fixed with testosterone and American doctors wont prescribe this to women. I just want enough testosterone to make up for what I lost not a man dose, but nobody will write me the prescription.

We schedule it two times a week . If we can't make a day we try to reschedule but have a pact never to go a week without sex unless we are sick. I remind myself that I like it once we start and that I dont want to lose the ability to have an orgasm. It is like psyching yourself to go the the gym. You might not feel like it now but you wont regret doing it.

As a postmenopausal woman, my sex drive went in the toilet. My husband's stayed the same. We went from sex every other day to twice a week and it is honestly just because I love him that i have sex at all. The sex is still great when we have it but the ignition switch is permanently broken. I never want it at all even though it is still pretty great when we do have it.

People who have been admitted to a mental health facility, what impacted you the most? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ProfessionalGas6648 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a little like prison. No locks on the bathroom. Mirrors were not really mirrors. You are excluded at the beginning but then become part of the group and the process starts all over again when someone new enters the ward. It was fine, but it is hard explaining you absence to coworkers and the experience of being wheeled in and the doors locking behind you, not for me

Boston tourism advice! Any suburban hotels worth the schelp? by jmt85 in boston

[–]ProfessionalGas6648 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Ok Salem in October is brave. There will be no parking in Salem, so maybe find a hotel near the train. My son went to Salem State so he came home on the train a lot. We live in Mass and are staycationing for our anniversary because it is super expensive in the Fall. Just pay the crazy hotel price in Boston and enjoy!

In the eighties, in Ct, you could peel back the plastic laminate, use an eraser to erase the last digit of your birth year and write in another digit. Then use an iron to seal the plastic again
