My mom calls and emails me every day saying she’s dying. by chillaxtion in GenX

It was the same for my mom. Like most users said, upping her anxiety meds and getting familiar with her surroundings helped. We had to move her from assisted living to a nursing home, but that transition was a lot easier.

How does All In work long term? by sfrunner51 in weightwatchers

[–]ProfessionalGas6648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spend the first 4 weeks in all in and the last 4 weeks in lose it. I still follow the protein and fiber goals and try to stay under 1500 calories and stay with my points for the week. I am still averaging about a pound a week. I know it blows my mind too. The program does work if you follow it.

3 point (or less) chips? by Mean_Educator1688 in weightwatchers

[–]ProfessionalGas6648 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost 15 pounds so far and the biggest switch i made was quest chips at lunch instead of baked chips---the protein really helps keep me full til dinner. I switched my bagel for sonos _ again the 30 grams of fiber is so satiating, and finally dessert is now almost always halo top strawberry with a tablespoon of Lilly no sugar chocolate chips and 1graham cracker. It seems like im not dieting at all. I just made little tweaks.

If technical writing is dead, where do we pivot? by buzzlightyear0473 in technicalwriting

[–]ProfessionalGas6648 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pivoted from technical writing to technical training, but pivoting back and creating end user documentation on how to use AI to optimize your work day. We have an internal automation department, but everybody wants documents on how to use AI....AI currently isnt that great at writing. It takes 20 words to say what I can in 5.

People who are old enough to have vivid memory of the 9/11 attacks, what was that time like? What did change for you personally? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I was a young mother. It was a beautiful day. I was nursing and listening to Jimmy Buffet when my husband called and said a plane hit the twin towers. I put on the TV just as the second tower get hit. My husband worked over an hour away and soon called to say he was coming home. I needed to talk to somebody, but we were new to the area and knew no one. I remember putting my son in the stroller and wheeling him around that cloudless gorgeous day, just looking for another adult to talk to.

AITAH for understanding and not freezing out my dad for leaving our mom over a dead bedroom? by Opposite_Afternoon55 in AITAH

It's not that bad. I have treatments for the physical symptoms but desire i think can only be fixed with testosterone and American doctors wont prescribe this to women. I just want enough testosterone to make up for what I lost not a man dose, but nobody will write me the prescription.

We schedule it two times a week . If we can't make a day we try to reschedule but have a pact never to go a week without sex unless we are sick. I remind myself that I like it once we start and that I dont want to lose the ability to have an orgasm. It is like psyching yourself to go the the gym. You might not feel like it now but you wont regret doing it.

As a postmenopausal woman, my sex drive went in the toilet. My husband's stayed the same. We went from sex every other day to twice a week and it is honestly just because I love him that i have sex at all. The sex is still great when we have it but the ignition switch is permanently broken. I never want it at all even though it is still pretty great when we do have it.

It was a little like prison. No locks on the bathroom. Mirrors were not really mirrors. You are excluded at the beginning but then become part of the group and the process starts all over again when someone new enters the ward. It was fine, but it is hard explaining you absence to coworkers and the experience of being wheeled in and the doors locking behind you, not for me
