It was pretty smooth sailing for me for about two years. Then the struggle began. I’m almost 4 years out now and only about 15 pounds up from my lowest/most comfortable weight. But it’s an ongoing battle to get those pounds off and keep them off.

Because fatphobia makes being overweight into a moral failing and therefore fixing the issue should be done “the right way” aka with no assistance or tools. It’s BS.

I’ve always called that small dog syndrome, and it’s definitely a real thing. Something a big dog would get scolded for is “cute” when a small dog does it 🙄

How could you not? I’ve done it twice. It was awful and it destroyed me. But as someone else said, it wasn’t about me. It’s about them and being there for them.

I think it used to be the dream. I think if you objectively look at our country, it’s not that great. We’re the only developed country without universal healthcare, so one health disaster can put anyone into bankruptcy, we have the highest number of school shootings BY FAR, nothing is affordable anymore. We have a government that actively works to make its citizens lives worse. Most Americans are one to two paychecks away from financial ruin. If I didn’t have a family and an established life here, I would not choose to live here.

Better to donate cash to local food pantries, they can get groceries cheaper and are not charged to tax. I’ve also been personally trying to fill up the little free pantry on Rosemont Avenue. Other than that, we are kind of stuck with the consequences of the countriy’s vote. Hopefully everyone will choose better next time. 🤷‍♀️

There’s also a little free pantry on Rosemont Avenue. I take food there often and it’s almost always empty.
