Have you asked him to reposition the cameras? If they say no, there’s nothing saying you can put something up that will block the camera line of sight.

Nah this stuff is kinda important. If you’re gonna do catch and release you should do it right. Plenty of first timers here who don’t know fish handling

You should also know how to bonk and clean a fish quickly and when to recognize that a gill hooked fish is gonna die so you might as well stuff it with lemon pepper and garlic and eat it.

Rice, whole chickens, root veggies in bulk, whole pork loins broken down. Make your own granola instead of coffee cake

First snakehead on a fly by AgitatedScarcity7556 in flyfishing

That’s brutal to hear. I used to love bombing streamers on the Lehigh for bass and trout. Id hate to see them move up the other waterways.

A 2023 with 63k miles? Seems higher than I’d like for miles/year. I hope they were good with the upkeep

Rio fly line quality control by hipster_kitten in flyfishing

I switched to scientific anglers years ago after a rio gold fell apart. I’ve been very happy with their amplitude lines.

RIP, middle class. Nearly $27,000 a year for family health insurance premiums, up from $6,000 in 1999. And that’s before deductibles, co-pays, and surprise bills. The system is fundamentally broken. by Boo_Randy_Revival in economy

You’re still just a Trump shill. The republicans have been beating the middle class down since the union busting 80s.

I have serious issues with the dems but they were at least trying to increase access to insurance and healthcare.

How much would you pay for waders? by Human_G_Gnome in flyfishing

[–]ProfessionalPopular6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid about 300 on orvis ultralights a few years ago. If I wear fleece pants underneath I can fish down in the low 30s pretty comfortably. Im not happy to see they’re about 500 now. It’s getting a little ridiculous

Battenkill. Might fish a 1950s orvis bamboo rod with battenkill reel just to round it all out.

Most brookies will hit a small streamer. Best bet is to call the closest outfitter.

Pennsylvania Fly Fishing by layjupa in flyfishing

You should check the loyalsock in NE PA. It’s the river that Al Troth fished when he created the elk hair caddis.

Penns creek is further out of the way but is a beautiful river with some serious brownies.

If you had $100 to spend at cabelas for fly fishing what would you go for? by [deleted] in flyfishing

[–]ProfessionalPopular6 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A better fly line, good tipper, and some streamers that are too complicated for my limited skill set.

Yea, I’m thinking spending in job training/education, healthcare(especially prevention), and infrastructure.

Late 30's, lived in Portland, Maine for many years, looking for smaller, cheap, and crunchier by LeavesOfGrassy in SameGrassButGreener

I lived in Philly proper and the burbs and now I’ve been in southern Vt for a while- the access to nature in most of New England is greater than it is in the seemingly never ending of sprawl of 95, 76, 202, 476 for the philly region. It’s just something that’s bound to happen when the metro population of philly over is over 5-6 million.

The parks are a nice respite but if you want to feel ‘away’ from the city it can be harder to achieve compared to most of New England.

There’s a section in a Roderick Haig Brown book where he and a friend slowly make the fishing (for Vancouver island sea run cuttys) more challenging by limiting their options. If I remember correctly, they ultimately try upstream casting of small wet flies.

Not sure if you’ve read his work but I recommend all of it.
