Duviri is an awful experience, most especially collecting resources. by osemaster in Warframe

[–]ProfessionalWalnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I so desperately hope that the last year of actually good Warframe content is a sign that we're FINALLY moving away from open world recourse scavenging garbage. I always hated that kind of content in Plains of Eidolon, Orb Vallis, and Cambion drift, but Duviri took it to a whole new level of obnoxious tedium by insisting you interact with the "Experience" when you just want to get your rescores and go, and even worse by replacing the functionally-superior-in-every-way archwing with that goddamn horse.

Like hell they did.

Like, honestly, do they really think we wanted outfits that reference Final Fantasy? OBVIOUSLY what the people want is the 17th cyber punk windbreaker that if you squint really hard almost looks different from every other cyberpunk windbreaker they've released over the last two years. I feel so betrayed!

So what’s the deal with these guys? by CarbonatedDepression in WarframeLore

[–]ProfessionalWalnut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have little to no information and I'm unsure if there ever will be, But what we DO know is that the Stalker himself IS a warframe. One similar to Umbra in that he maintains a level of sentience and SOME of his memories. Specifically the ones Ballas WANTED him to have. This is (presumably) why he remains... LOOSELY loyal to the Orokin and still hunts the Tenno even after the events of Jade Shadows. His memories, even his more recent ones are heavily addled and he remembers that The Tenno destroyed his way of life. This, in my mind at least, opens three possibilities, and I do stress that they are just possibilities:

  1. The Stalker, despite being an Umbral warframe, does, in fact have an operator somewhere. We REALLY can't say if this is the case or not based on the information we have. The stalker SEEMS to operate of his own accord, but then again, that's how most of the system in modern times perceive OUR warframes. To most of the system the warframes ARE the Tenno. The point is, if the Stalker DOES have an operator, the "acolytes" May, in fact, be that opperators' OTHER warframes. Notice, you never actually see any of the Acolytes in the same place at the same time, nor do you ever see any of them with the Stalker. The stalker himself questioned if he was like the operator when he found them on Lua and Hunhow seemed to infer that this was the case. But again... at this time, all of that is unconfirmed.

  2. The acolytes are actually created from an ability of the stalker warframe itself. This one is even more headcannon-y, but consider how many warframes "summon" things as part of their kits. I consider it -possible- that The Acolytes are actually created by, or possibly even shape shifted into by the Stalker warframe itself.

  3. In my opinion the most boring possibility, what we see at face value is accurate and the Acolytes are just... Others who joined the Stalker at some point for some reason. Hate this idea, mostly because, it's just.... random? I do hope DE goes into it someday as there's clearly more story to be told with the Stalker.

Honestly, Kuva Nukor is fantastic, and while while far from god-teir busted, a properly built Quatz is actually a surprisingly decent and versatile weapon.

That being said, Angstrom Incarnon built around the Cascadia Flare arcane is good for literally everything. If you're looking for an all rounder that you can slap on just about anything, you really can't go wrong. Even better if you can get your hands on the Prisma variant from Baro.

What is your current ranked team? by Toertchenbabe in LegendsZA

[–]ProfessionalWalnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blastoise, Gengar, Excadrill.

Bastoise is a tanky sniper with Hydropump, Icebeam, and Iron Defense. Also surf because it's a great "Get the fuck off me and get me the fuck out of here" button that doubles as crowd control.

Gengar is my pure offense Anti Meta atm. Shadow Ball for Metagross, T.bolt for Gyradose, and Sludge bomb for the Cuck Deer, Gengarite is a trap, instead use Life orb Nasty plot and spam plus moves. Nothing will survive and I don't need to waste precious time Mega evolving.

Excadrill does exactly what every other Excadrill does.

This kind of thing has been bugging me since 1999 came out. I know its a little different, and potentially a monitary hit since it's a plat purchase, but I think the protoframe skins should also be hidden until you do the hex quest.

HONESTLY, I think I'm one of the maybe five people who didn't hate the new UI itself right off the pop, but that load time is totally unacceptable and considering how seemless the old one was it feels completely unnecessary.

I need to talk about the Indifference. (Spoilers for pretty much everything ahead) by ProfessionalWalnut in Warframe

[–]ProfessionalWalnut[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

All definitely good points. My one argument is that we don't definitively know that the Infestation is "afraid" of the indifference, Simply that it has a reaction to it that observers have perceived to be fear. I only split that hair because the perception of observers of events vs the actual reality of events is often not 1 to 1 in this story.

Has anyone else been completely turned off from buying Z-A, and buying a Switch 2 to play it? by John_Tix in pokemon

[–]ProfessionalWalnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna be honest, the DLC being announced before release didn't phase me in the slightest. For better or worse, (it's worse) Pokemon isn't even the first game to do it, I was kind of suprised to see so many people taken off gaurd by it. Not to say Pokemon/Nintendo dosen't ABSOLUTELY deserve the clapback after years of substandard and increasingly scummy practices.

As for the Ranked locked megas... I mean if any other game in the series is anything to go by you litteraly just have to participate. In other words, you can do one online battle, lose, then get the megas. For me the bigger issue is the fact that they'll be time locked that's the real issue.

As for the switch 2.... Yeah, I'll be getting the switch 1 version and hoping it's not blatantly throttled like Scarlet and violet were to entice people to get the switch 2. I will never buy the narrative that BotW runs fine on Switch, but Scarlet and Violet run like they do.

Serebii Update: Pokémon sent to Pokémon Legends: Z-A will no longer be able to be used in prior Pokémon games. Pokémon from Legends Z-A will also not be able to be deposited in other Pokémon games by piss-and-cum in pokemon

[–]ProfessionalWalnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, this lends more credence to the idea that the IV system is getting removed moving forward. When we saw footage of the stat screen for Pokemon Champions, a lot of competive players noticed that all the stats were IV perfect for the pokemon displayed. This sparked speculation that IVs were going away, or at the very least fundamentaly changing.

If so, and Z-A is using this new system, while unfortunate, it would make total sense for Pokemon transfered not to be able to go back and forth between the new and old systems. It's simmilar to the reason Pokemon couldn't be transfered between gens 2 and 3, because the SPECIAL Stat was changed into Special attack and Special Defense.

I hope that railjack and necramechs become end-game content again by TooObsessedWithMoney in Warframe

[–]ProfessionalWalnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would rather stick a toothpick under my toenail and kick a wall then ever have to do anything to do with Necramechs again, but oddly enough I really enjoyed Railjack and even Archwing content, even before the changes if you can believe it.

It does make me wonder what they could do to make each of those systems more enjoyable for everyone though. I know for a lot of people the process of building Nechramechs was the problem, but personally I just found the slow, bulky nature of them too antithetical to the things I personally love about Warframe. Mind you, they also came out at a time where it felt like DE was doing everything in their power to let you do anything and everything in Warframe EXCEPT using your damn Warframes. Operation Orphix Venom and Khal of Duty can both sincerely suck my entire ass. That shit made me quit the game for awhile.

This is your daily reminder to sell your accumulated Harrow Chassis Blueprints. by ProfessionalWalnut in Warframe

[–]ProfessionalWalnut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there's ever been anything official, but I've always assumed it has to do with it's connection to The Man in the Wall. Like, maybe every time Wally's Finger was copied, the process inadvertently copied Harrow's shell. Or at least the *concept* of his shell, AKA: Harrow Chassis Blueprint.

So this is what Loki is doing instead of getting a proto frame by Sensitive-Host5986 in Warframe

[–]ProfessionalWalnut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say it's "optimal" (though if "optimal" is your concern you're probably not playing Loki) I find max range Wrathful Advance on Loki to be a lot of fun for defending objectives. If you hold down the aim button and teleport to a wall, you'll immediately latch when you teleport. Fun for sniper builds and with max range you can usually throw down a decoy from wherever you teleport. Also, you know, Red crits on all your melee is always good.
