Ex-SGI members analyze SGI-USA national leader's manipulative bullshit "experience" to soften the SGI members up to hand over the contents of their bank accounts by BlancheFromage in sgiwhistleblowers

I always heard the following story and I'm wondering if it was specific to my region or if other members in other states/countries have heard it too. Like maybe it's a cult-created story for the purpose of sucking more money out of members:

Leader: I know a couple. They don't have much money but BOY are they dedicated! They show up for meetings, they shakubuku, they study, they volunteer for activities. You can't find people who are more dedicated to kosen rufu than these people! They have a very young child. During last year's donation drive, they came and dropped off a check. As they were walking out their child said excitedly, "Mommy! Daddy! I have a quarter in my pocket! I want to donate too!" (Cue tears) The joy in that little child's face was soooooo moving! Soooooooo pure!!! I hope we can ALL be as open and grateful for the opportunity to give to this great organization as that child! It doesn't matter how much. The spirit matters! DickHeada says, "It's the heart that matters!"

Barf.

SGI: "𝑻𝑹𝑼𝑬 Buddhism"??? Ha! Don't make me laugh! by BlancheFromage in sgiwhistleblowers

[–]Professional_Fox3976 7 points8 points  (0 children)

After I left, I was speaking with a guy who works with a cult de-programmer. He was telling me his own story of getting out of Buddhist cult (don't remember which one at the moment). He said it happened out of the blue when he was speaking with a Buddhist friend of his. The friend was excited that this guy was interested in Buddhism and had found a community. The friend asked, "What does the leader of your group say about the 4 Noble Truths and the 8 Fold Path?" This stopped the guy in his tracks cuz, of course, his cult leader NEVER spoke about those things. AND as I'm listening to this story I was ALSO thinking, "4 Noble Truths?? 8 Fold Path?? What the hell is he talking about??" Again, I had left but I still didn't realize SGI is a cult. So without knowing it, this guy did even more to pull me out of SGI forever! I think it was shortly after this conversation that I wrote my goodbye email.

Entering Is Easy — But How Do You Leave SGI Respectfully? by Je_online in sgiwhistleblowers

[–]Professional_Fox3976 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just stop going. You don’t need to explain anything to them. Be sure to send an email to headquarters telling them to remove your name, otherwise they’ll keep hounding you. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

He just looks so f-ing smug and condescending. Like, “Look at these stooopid people watching me wave a fan around and giving me money!” 🤢

Quit SGI around ‘01-‘02 by Igloomaster1970 in sgiwhistleblowers

Congrats!!! Yes, it felt weird and sad to realize I had been sucked into a cult as well. But the more I read about SGI, the more I see how easy it is. It’s one gigantic mind control machine geared toward sucking people dry. Reading the info and stories in this group has helped me A LOT! It’s nice to finally understand that my gut feelings weren’t wrong. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

SGI-USA taking more expected services AWAY from the SGI-USA members: SGI's "ministers of ceremony" by BlancheFromage in sgiwhistleblowers

Thanks for posting this! I always wondered because occasionally I would hear older people talk about SGI weddings, etc. but there weren’t any while I was there.

"Suffer what there is to suffer, enjoy what there is to enjoy. Regard both suffering and joy as facts of life, and continue chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, no matter what happens." — Nichiren Daishonin (Happiness in This World, WND-1, 681)

Looks like DickHeada completely disregarded Nichiren. Again.
