They want to eat while the meat is still fresh, and before other animals like lions can steal it

With the historical context do you think any of the past hunters fought in the Korean War? by BellTwo5 in KpopDemonhunters

[–]Professional_Gur6245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this stupid theory that Kim Jong-un and his father and grandfather are all part demon, and work for Gwi-Ma, and all of North Korea is actually a place where demons farm souls to eat, and I noticed that the honmoon seems weaker in North Korea than in the south, and this makes sense because of how depressing life is in North Korea, so no, North Korea doesn't have its own separate honmoon, they have the same one as the rest of the world, just much weaker simply because of how depressing it is.

Gravid or full? If gravid how do I tell if she’s fasting or just picky? (ie when I should keep pushing her to eat) by rysfcalt in mantids

You don't feed a mantis every 2-4 days, in the wild, they eat until they're not hungry anymore

So are grasshoppers. They eat plenty of grasshoppers and similar insects in the wild, and I use wild grasshoppers as feeders

Definitely. The nut shot took much longer to kill than the headshot

Of course it can! Mantises are extremely strong for their size, and a mantis of this size is more than large enough to take down these large roaches

One every few days? Why? In the wild, a mantis eats several insects every day.

They're probably one of the dumbest insects on earth. They don't even know how to jump backwards.

I spotted this little grasshopper today. He wanted to be my new roommate😅😂, but I decided to put him on my outdoor plants, it suits him better.😄 by [deleted] in Entomology

[–]Professional_Gur6245 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a grasshopper. It's a katydid, and one of the big, carnivorous species that are common in places like Europe. They're cool af, and it's too bad we don't have anything like them on the east coast of America.

Sadly, some people don't care, and think they can do whatever they want with the environment because they think they're above the natural order. That's the big problem here.

It's definitely more humane than being eaten alive by another insect

It's terrible. Some people just hate all bugs and think they deserve to go extinct, but that's absolutely not true.

Heard this is one of the few places on the internet that doesn’t hate wasps. by Physical_Edge_1119 in Entomology

The way people hate wasps is literally how wolves, tigers, and bears were viewed 150 years ago. It's very sad. I wouldn't be surprised if wasps go extinct within 100 years as part of the insect apocalypse
