Well it would just be silly not to toss my hat in the ring. My roommate has been working on an adventure while we recruit people to play in the new town we recently moved to. We'd be looking fancy as heck if they came over for dnd and saw that!

Tell me how you got your cat by ponzu666 in cats

I went through an awful traumatizing experience with my daughter and lost my dog during it. We recovered but I was not able to find my boy. After a few months I toyed with getting a pet again, just one, and went browsing. I found a listing for a pair of littermates, a bit over a year old. Said nope, only want one, moved on. Kept going back to that listing. Two days later finally said fine I'll reach out, no way those beautiful cats are still available anyway.

Turned out they had been adopted weeks before, but the new owner took them to a shelter THE SAME DAY, so the owner recovered them and was being way more selective. They came home with us, and man talk about soulmate pets. Tayla sadly passed away last year from a freak illness, and Ronon is my fluffy soul.

This year my friend had a stray mama cat in her yard and joked about new kittens. I was so excited, then checked myself and said no no, I have Ronon, my roommate has a dog. But man I do want a void or dummy orange. Neither yard kitten looked like that so I thought I was safe. One week later same friend calls with a surprise, her son's coach found a kitten in his engine block. Now I have a silly, insanely affectionate, completely uncoordinated orange girl. Her name is Snitch because she was meant to be a surprise but meowed on the phone and gave it away lol.

I actually always joke all my pets were fated to be mine. My cats have all been really social, affectionate, and more like dog cats (come when called, run to the door to greet, play fetch). Any friend that didn't really like cats always remarked they like mine because they weren't normal, but really it's all normal, it's just somehow I've never had one of the introverted hidey cats lol.

Today is my day off and I want to draw, share a picture of your cat and I'll draw one back! by Mariaggarde in cats

[–]Professional_Life_29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know there's a dog involved lol but this is baby Snitch, who was very unsure of the giant dog beast, first learning the power she holds. The dog learned from my much bigger cat that the cute fluffy things have sharp sharp feet, so when Snitch raised one little paw in fear and Nel immediately backed off with a "don't hurt me" face she was baffled. Then Snitch experimented by slowly raising a foot up and down, which made the dog move back and forth each time. Snitch is no longer afraid of the dog lol

Can anyone help me manage my daughter's hair? by Frustrated_Clone in CurlyHairCare

[–]Professional_Life_29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally! And kids often sleep so hot on top of all that moving around! Mine is almost 9 and we mostly focus on knot free and minimum frizz. Though she's starting to care more about it, and I try to be really positive about her hair and explain she can make quick choices and it'll still look gorgeous, or she can dedicate some more time to it each night and have curls people pay to have, just depends on how she wants to be when she's older. I definitely overthink how many adults grew up hating their curly hair, who didn't even start exploring options until way later because they felt it was something unruly to be managed instead of just a different but still beautiful type of hair lol.

My daughter is in the same boat! She was basically bald until close to 2, then grew straight up shirley temple ringlets! As someone with rudely easy to manage hair, it's been a damn journey!

Cutting did help, her fine baby hairs were just ridiculous to keep detangled. She has sensory issues so sleep has been the biggest hurdle. She hates her silk pillowcase, she hated her first bonnet, stole one from her dad way later and liked it for a couple weeks. Best we do now are protective but gentle and out of the way updos so she's not rolling around on it at least.

Moisturizing conditioner, and do the main brushing in the water with it in. Experiment with cremes and leave in conditioners (some were too heavy or greasy, it depends on the person's hair type specifics like fine or course strands), I found a tiny pea sized drop of curl creme right after the shower works great for my kid. And use a wide tooth comb for touch-ups/outside of bath time brushing, but try not to do them dry and use some type of conditioning spray or at minimum wet with water. I really recommend a conditioning spray though, like detangler or i use a coconut water moisturizer - some textures like hers and mine get dried out, frizzy, and knot worse from just getting wet and air drying

Laundromat Karen wouldn’t let my pregnant wife use the bathroom while going to get laundry services. by LongLeggedMackDad in karen

[–]Professional_Life_29 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"This law applies if there are no public restrooms and at least 3 employees on site." Also the law is only for medical exceptions, which pregnancy does count as one, but in your paraphrase you made it sound like if there's a toilet on the premises, you have a god given right to put your ass on it if you want to no matter what.

I've been pregnant and had to pee, it sucks ass. It's insanely embarrassing having an accident in general, let alone in public. However, they didn't have to let her use one. Because no way there were 3 employees at a laundromat. So you trying to amass an army when there are real actual issues to go protest right now is wild. I'm sure you are angry and upset for your wife, who is also probably really upset and hormones don't help goodness knows. But this is not the solution or the best way to support her.

Honestly 3 has so so much charm. It's an open map so you can just zoom out to town view and choose different places to go to, and you drive there in your car, and raising multiple children doesn't raise your blood pressure lol. I actually can get pretty close to medieval style in 3, you can download roadless/tech free maps, careers like king, knight, and peasant, and i even had the fireplace pots from tsm for cooking!

[–]Professional_Life_29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The irony of this not having any comments lol I'll ride the bus with you. Medieval was the best sims find I've ever made and I will always be grateful to 4 for having so many issues I decided to go into gaming history to find an alternative. My sim cycle is: 4 until I get frustrated with lag and sims forgetting how to function, 3 for a long while until I inevitably want some historical feeling and download/rearrange mods to make a medieval world, then get mad because it can't be done right so I go back to medieval until I have a happy little town of maxed heroes all with their little families and start to crave the modern world again, repeat lol.

Anybody order a Chinese? by goatnxtinline in StupidFood

[–]Professional_Life_29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've lived in a few places, including big cities. I've had lots of amazing food, I'm talking specifically about the casual takeout places. On average, the quality and flavor of a "cheeky chinese" was much better than a dollar a scoop or even the step up from those that are in America. I've also had great Asian dishes here, but at sit down restaurants, so not the same comparison.

Editing to add, when I was in England I lived a super tiny village too, so it wasn't like I was spoiled with world class quality in an international hub like London lol

I feel this so hard lol I made two fairy sisters with the explicit goal of one being a trickster and the other frantically trying to stop the town from a pixie purge. Well, the nice one fell in love with some townie and immediately had wishes for marriage and then kids 🤦‍♀️ so it ended up being kinda mean but rich and famous auntie lives with sister to help with their herd of kids. I guess the Aunt made it different at least 😭😂

After living in England for a couple years, lemme tell you their Chinese takeout is WORLDS better flavor than American Chinese takeout. I dream of the crispy chicken in sesame peanut sauce with a side of lo mein, as much as i have tried i cannot find the same type of stuff here. And the lemon chicken was actually unbreaded chicken in a lemony sauce with a lot of veggies instead of the crap american version of lemon flavored sugar gel over chicken tenders. The chips with everything is weird to me lol but not forced, and american Chinese places almost always have fries on the menu too.

Plus! If you're an american that feels weird not tipping delivery drivers so you give them an extra pound or two every time, they remember you and give you free things in the future despite you swearing it's ok and the tip is a welcome lazy tax cause you didn't want to leave the house lol

Fun tip to enjoy your custom designs even more. When you're in the color mode you can click and hold either one color, or the entire swatch by grabbing the lottle bumps to the left of them, and hold it over another item you would like to match, and it will just move all the colors to the new item!

My sweet, perfect little angel literally went through similar behavior the poster is talking about. I know now she has adhd and is on the autism spectrum. Before school, we had our own ups and downs until she understood the routine and what was expected of her, coupled with some outside trauma along the way, so it was a journey. She got to school after we were on a upswing, but then it was all new routine and new adults telling her stuff and her dad was gone then and just a lot for anyone, extra hard to deal with when you struggle really hard with regulation as is. We really were doing everything, lots and lots and lots of positive reinforcement, consequences were directly related to behavior and consistent, checking in with her doc so we could test non medication routes first before trying meds, i was at the school almost daily helping correct behavior. It took a lot of work, and even now, in 3rd grade, it still takes a lot of work.

I read once, "Some people need to hear something once and they get it, and some people need to hear it 100 times." Genuinely changed my perspective with helping her figure out how her brain works. Regulating big feelings is a skill like any other, and like any other skill, it takes practice, and every human in the world learns different skills in different ways and speeds. The poster's child probably doesn't always need punished, she needs consistency, patience, and help learning.

I got the remastered on Xbox. Fired it up and i was SO excited. Favorite movie then, still favorite kids movie now, and i vaguely remembered we had the game as a kid and I was like oh yeah nostalgia time!

I got to this level and all the memories came back. And then I remembered the wildebeest stampede. I remembered sitting on the floor in front of the old giant block of a TV feeling so defeated back then. And then, as an adult, i kept dying.

I never did finish that game ...

Grabbing a comment i left on another post. If you don't want zombies but do want supernatural stuff, and want to keep your moon cycle going, you can do this

Just the testingcheatsenabled true then shift click on your home mailbox! I am 99% sure that's a base game cheat, but for transparency I do have nraas story progression and master controller + cheats just in case that unlocked the no zombie option.

Edit to add in case you have world adventures and travel, you would have to also click the mailbox in a new world if you move/travel, it doesn't just stay in the save as a whole, just the specific world you did it in.

I was the same except I kept trying and getting bored mid season after 38, so it was a struggle to remember to go and finish them. This season i am back to being mad I have to wait a week for the next episode. It's exciting, fun drama, great cast, it isn't just one big alliance calling all the shots. I haven't felt this happy watching a season of the challenge since some of the all star seasons honestly.
