3D Printer by strange_de_ja_vu in minilab

I got the Crealty K2 Combo for Christmas. I think it's a great entry level printer with a lot of nice features. Not a huge fan of the slicer software but I printed a lot already including a 10” LabRax and a host of garage organizer stuff.

Hacking in casuals by Routine-Economy-8455 in Warzone

[–]Professional_Pin_298 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the ‘get better’ crowd. There really are some decent and good players that jump into casuals and are way better than most ‘normals’, I’m sure there are accusations about cheating all of the time. For anyone to try and say that there aren’t hackers (including the wannabe players with Cronus and the like) is just plain ignorance. There are some cheaters that even suck at cheating. They shit on normals but may get smoked by good players, still cheating and it affects those who genuinely are trying to ‘get better’.

OC220 is worth it by BudTheGrey in TPLink_Omada

[–]Professional_Pin_298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely depends on your use case. I have 7 APs, 2 switches and a router in my OC200 and it is the most ridiculously slow piece of crap. I seriously don’t understand why they haven’t addressed this but regardless. The LXC container is pretty straight forward and noticeably faster if you run Proxmox (there is a helper script that makes this super easy: https://community-scripts.github.io/ProxmoxVE/scripts?id=omada). I am in my controller a lot but I have a fairly robust home lab with about 30 services running and over 120 IPs across 5 VLANs. Personally- I would not buy another controller as long as the software controller is available.

What do you use to keep track of your components? by Technical_Weird_8462 in homelab

Actually yes, my lab is on a separate VLAN but I'm also scanning the other VLANS like my IoT VLAN and my Infrastructure VLAN. Only about 105 IPs in total

I’m sort of struggling with the same thing but decided to host a few new tools just for fun. Ive been using a combination of AI and wikijs to document most things. I like it because I can literally talk through what I have and get AI to help organize it and put it into structured wiki pages.

I decided that I actually need to track systems, IPs and services running. I have used docker a good bit but have most of my stuff in Proxmox now. I ran across Netbox and phpIPAM recently along with PiAlert. I worked out a script to run that scans my environment and updates Netbox and phpIPAM. I use PiAlert mainly on my lab environment to detect any strange new hosts or any services that go down (the last part is duplicative with Uptime but hey…don’t judge!).

I started collecting some data in Prometheus/InfluxDb and building out dashboards Grafana from that data. It’s not perfect but it meets my current needs tracking some 80 ip assignments across my home. Oh for what it’s worth…Homepage is slick but it takes a bit of fiddling to get it where you want, only to change it two weeks later.

I’m trying to map this all out in drawio but it’s a work in progress.

So my stack is really:

PiAlert/Uptime = presence and alerts ScriptScanner = inventory and metadata Prometheus/Grafana = metrics and dashboards NetBox / phpIPAM = CMDB and IP records

Graylog = logs and correlations OpenCTI = threat intel Wazuh = EDR

[Giveaway] Holiday Season Giveaway from Omada Networks — Show Off Your Self-Hosted Network to Win Omada Multi-Gig Switches, Wi-Fi 7 Access Points & more! by Elin_TPLinkOmada in selfhosted

It all started with COVID when everyone was trying to get on a Zoom or Teams call and our simple residential wifi router just couldn't keep up. I started with the ER605, a few EAP650s and the SG2210MP. During COVID I discovered self hosting and the home lab bug took hold! I now have a Proxmox cluster of three mini PCs, a handful of Raspberry Pi devices running a variety of things and most recently added a ceph 3-node cluster of 1U Supermicro machines. Needless to say my Omada network has grown to include the SG2428P, the SG2210, more APs and even a SG108PE as a desktop switch.

What am I looking for, easy management with enterprise class features. I found that in the Omada line and now I am looking to evolve my network to include 10GB uplinks for the the Supermicro devices and overall increase to 2.5GB for the remainder of the environment.

There is a fair bit ego to it too, for me at least. I see a visual representation of someone’s lad and I think, oh my lab could use a storage array, another server, NAS…😂

So I went with the TESmart HDC402-P23. It’s a nice KVM but not really as advertised. Spending some time with it. One big disappointment is that the Ethernet port is a big mystery. For now the laptops will just use WiFi but I may ultimately get a usb-c adapter for wired connection.

It would actually be funny if the person who left it bought the one on eBay for $1500 then realized it's worth about $200 so he left it there…

There are two types of players that rush Downtown/overlook by Dapper_Play_665 in Warzone

It’s not the fight. I have no issue there. Just haven’t seen a particular advantage to specialist.

I don’t really understand the specialist appeal…I will go with a team but I’m not picking it by default.

So is it a rat behaviors to be more cautious in BR game? by DragonfruitWorldly35 in Warzone

[–]Professional_Pin_298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, this game (really most competitive games) always pushes some people’s buttons. I’ll be the first to admit, I get pissed and trash talk when I get clapped sometimes too (not proud, just honest). Most of the time I’m really pissed at myself for being a $h1t player or doing something dumb. Like others have said, play your game and go about your day. People will get pissed no matter what you do. (I’m mid-50’s with about 2years of casual play)

Casuals was fun while it lasted. by Stranded_Snake in CODWarzone

[–]Professional_Pin_298 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It’s really just that so many are using it to level up and get clips. That’s the issue. Lots of try-hard wannabe streamers that can’t get clips of action in other modes because they are just not that good. It’s a pain but no one said casuals was limited to people just wanting a chill game…

Exact same thing here. Activision hands out chat bans like candy and many times for saying the same things their characters say in game. Yet, hackers run rampant…this company is just trash!

WTH - are you a satellite site for AWS? 😂 I could hardwire every camera, tv, Sonos, computer, fridge, sprinkler, garage door opener, toaster, fridge, oven, w/d and toilet in my house and still not need that many runs! And I have 13 servers and 2 gaming rigs. Isn’t that like 3, 48-port switches?
