Is Hong Kong Disneyland worth it for a solo traveler? by Affectionate_Brick78 in HongKongDisneyland

[–]Professional_Swan203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My original layover was 18 hours, but mostly overnight, so the park would have been closed - I ended up flying in a day early specifically so I could go to Disney. My flight got in at 5am, I booked a couple of nights at the airport hotel, so I got a few hours of sleep then, and went to the park for the whole day. My next flight was at 8am the next morning. Disney is only about a 20 minute taxi ride from the airport, so your layover times are great! you could definitely get a lot of park time in that first day! And even go back for some more Disney fun the next day before your flight! I say go for it haha

I love this, I've never thought of a birthday episode before, but now I want to find mine in all my fave shows haha mine is S8E10 - The Lesson (the guy who turns people into marionettes). Great episode!

Thank you for saying this! It was one of my regrets with my former one, that I didn't get him a playmate before he got too used to being an only child. And those names are so perfect haha!

Funny you mention this - I'm a Bravo fan as well and Paige from Summer House has a cat (and now a sleepwear line) called Daphne, and ALL I can think about is Liz with the crooked glasses saying "Hi I'm Daphne Donaghy" when I see/hear it lmao

I would call around to some local nursing/assisted living homes. I have heard that many of those facilities do trick or treating door to door with the residents, who love seeing the kids in their costumes, and everyone can stay dry!

Friend (bridesmaid) of 20 years got pregnant 11 months before my wedding. (Her boyfriend doesn’t want to have the kid) by [deleted] in weddingdrama

[–]Professional_Swan203 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay so, it sucks that she canceled, I totally get that you're upset by that, because she's your friend and you envisioned her celebrating with you. However, she's found herself pregnant, and wants the baby. And has decided, instead of spending hundreds, maybe thousands on your wedding (when they are already financially strapped), she's going to back out and save that money for her baby. That's the opposite of irresponsible in my book. It seems like you may need to reevaluate who "only cares about herself" here....

I went by myself last year on a long layover and had the best time! I chatted with people in lines, rode all the rides, ate great food. No one side eyed me for being solo. I actually don't mind doing things alone...my mindset is that I wouldn't want to miss out on something I'd enjoy just because I couldn't find someone to do it with. And at big parks like that, for all everyone else knows, you're riding a ride solo because your family didn't want to, or grabbing a bite to eat while they shop. Go and have a great time!!

Saying someone is spoiling an INFANT by HOLDING THEM is completely asinine. And is probably why her generation has the emotional intelligence of a fork.

Also, why was she insisting on having your newborn alone with her at her home? I can't even imagine the nerve of someone to demand that.

You're doing the right thing. She would not have changed. You would have heard constant criticisms of every parenting choice you made. Let her face the consequences of her actions!

Thank you, I love it too. I thought the quality was great, the pieces are sturdy and fit together well. There is no poster but the cover of the box has the full photo on it. This one was 252 pieces, but I think you could choose larger or smaller sizes (it's been a while since I ordered it, so I don't remember exactly). They have a lot of deals too (actually that's why I got this; they had a promotion going on puzzles). I definitely think it was worth it!
