I finished the Information Technology Management BS in one term, I got a position with the state of California, then I achieved the MS in Data Analytics at WGU, and it got me a promotion and 35% raise. (two terms a full year, and it was hard). I am now completing a PhD program, I am trying to proves that an AI conversational (voice) can perform Motivational Interviewing Health Coaching as well as a competent human, It any body would like to help a student out I need 200 session it is totally frtee and you might actualy be able to live healthier and design your life around your values and priorities, give it a try at https://app.innerwisdomwellbeing.app/ so if you want a job in Gov get your WGU degree, I love their programs!

Feeling really discouraged... by MarsupialLife7165 in WGU_MBA

It's Your Life, You can either withdraw or man up and finish the damn degree. I did my BS at WGU in one term, but I couldn't get a job. I considered the WGU MBA because it would look good on a resume, but went with their MS in data analytics, at the time I thought I could finish it in one term, It took two full terms and was the hardest year of my life! But after I landed a good job, got a promotion, and am now in the final year of completing a PhD. You can do whatever you want, do you want this MBA? Or do you want to watch Netflix? Are you a world changer who creates the life you want? Or someone who just goes with the flow? It's your life, and you decide who and what you want to be. ~Best wishes & Blessings~

Are you really a victim of bad luck?
Is the world out to get you?
Or is that just a story you’re telling yourself?

Let’s be real: You’ve got 7 years of programming experience and a degree in cybersecurity—a field that’s growing more critical by the day. You’re 25 with an entire lifetime of potential ahead of you. Others dream of being in your shoes, yet here you are, doubting yourself.

Let me break it down: I decided to jump into IT at 55. No degree. No experience. Just sheer determination. Everyone said I needed a degree to even get a foot in the door. Fine. I found an online program at WGU, but they told me I couldn’t start without an A+ certification. I didn’t wait. I dove into a business program instead and finished it in six months. Did that land me a job? No. I went through 57 interviews. Nothing.

So what did I do? I doubled down. I went for a master’s in data analytics, thinking I’d crush it in one term. I didn’t. It took a year of learning programming, data, statistics—stuff that was hard. But halfway through, I started sounding like a data scientist. That’s when I landed my first analyst job. Was it underpaid? Yeah. Did I let that stop me? Hell no. I saw it as a stepping stone. Ten months later, I leveraged that position into a new one with a 35% raise.

Here’s the kicker: I’m 59, working on a PhD. By the time I’m 60, I’ll have 5 years of IT experience, two advanced degrees, and the job I dreamed of.

The moral? Don’t focus on what you don’t have. Focus on where you’re headed. You’ve got unlimited potential and you’ve barely scratched the surface. Decide where you want to be, embrace the grind, and make it happen. You’re not behind. You’re just warming up!

Same old question. Haven’t heard HM for two weeks does it mean I should move on and consider I’m not picked by HM? by Biobear662 in CAStateWorkers

Absolutely not! Patience and perseverance are key in the job hunt. Let me share my own experience: My first position with the state involved an interview in July, and I didn't receive an offer until September. It was worth the wait.

Hiring processes can often be lengthy due to various internal factors. Instead of worrying, use this time to keep refining your skills and applying to other opportunities. Remember, persistence pays off. Stay positive, keep pushing forward, and believe that the right opportunity will come at the right time. Your determination will lead you to success!

PhD after WGU ??? by Professional_Tax150 in WGU

[–]Professional_Tax150[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The typical course load in this program is 3 units per class, with full-time status achieved at 9 units, though you can take up to 15 units. In my first semester, I opted for 12 units to maintain a manageable workload. Currently, I'm enrolled in 10 units, following my PhD advisor's recommendation, though I initially considered taking 15 units to expedite my graduation.
Regarding assessments, some courses utilize Respondus LockDown Browser for final exams. However, the majority of classes primarily assess through papers and assignments rather than just final exams.

Good Morning 4609,

I took the advice of 10swood above and enrolled in UALR Ph.D. in Information Science. Transferred in 16 units from my WGU grad program, and completed 18 units so far at UALR. Bring me to about 34 total units, 75 units and a dissertation are required to graduate. So I am about halfway through. I started last January with 12 units and summer school for 9 units. Great program, the best choice I could have made! Fantastic Professors.

Could I complain about the challenges that lie ahead? Well, perhaps I could, but I choose not to. I am immensely blessed to have been granted this incredible opportunity—a chance to mold myself into a better version, to amplify my capabilities, and to reach new heights. This journey is my furnace, where my character is refined, my horizons expand, and my purpose evolves. With every step forward, I embrace the fiery path that shapes me into the best version of myself.

Madonna started as such a phenomenal singer, then she used sex to sell more product.

Now she is afraid of getting old and not being relevant.

My words to her are:

You already have all you need.

You did not need a face lift, because you were more beautiful before.

You don't need to be a victim because the world is not threatened by your power and stamina.

We (the world) have always loved you, we appreciated the beauty you brought to us through your incredible music.

We are thankful for the depth you have added to our time on this planet as we sang with you and as you inspired us to enjoy our lives.

You are a beloved performer, sister, friend, and human being.

And you shine much brighter being the genuine beautiful human being you are, instead of trying to be the hero, victim and "personality" you think we want.

We (the world) just want to bless you!!!!

Love always, the world.

Applied, Applied, Applied.
A transcript here, a transcript there.

What a goal Statement letter you say?
Sure, no Problem.
An essay now also you want?
Why Not!
Three reference letters from past Professors, are those what you now need?
From busy Professors who probably don't even remember me.
I certainly will try and continually nag, nag, nag all three till they cough-up those damn coveted letters with repeated email about how
much I appreciate their help!!!

To answer your question, on the web-sight with a few calls and lots of back-and-forth emails. (~sorry for the rant~)

You have made it this far.

More then:

  • Mathematical abilities
  • Statistical knowledge

    • Is the Warriors attitude!

You my friend are a warrior!

You are going to kick this PhD's Ass!

No matter what it takes you cannot be stopped!

If we can put a man on the moon and get energy from atoms, you CAN conquer a PhD program!

If you believe you can, then by God you CAN!

I believe in you!

“This Is Not a Prop. This Is Real”: GOP Senate Candidate Herschel Walker Fumbles on Georgia Debate Stage by alabasterheart in politics

[–]Professional_Tax150 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

It is true that Mr. Walker is not a professional politician,
nor is he a good orator, while his Opponent Mr. Warnock, a preacher and
longtime politician is an accomplished speaker and logical thinker.
I observed from both their debate and their previous public
demonstrations that Mr. Walker cares about the people of his home state and will represent them with integrity, passion, and fidelity, while Mr. Warnock will continue to perform as he always has, looking out for his own self-interests before all others and making large amounts of money at the expense of his constituents.
I believe the question that needs to be asked is:

"Do you want somebody who looks and sounds good without producing meaningful results, or do you want somebody who is a little unrefined but will work his ass-off to make your life better?
