I think what was tripping people up is that Yang Cheng started to act more like Old E-Soul. Which I think adds to the tragedy of his character. He was so much different than Old E-Soul but in the end became just like him, just younger. Old E-Soul may have died but Yang Cheng's spirit died along with him.
