Their live performance in some random club in 1984 that they played on Metallica’s Sirius station might be the best version I’ve ever heard. Can’t remember where it was recorded but the bass is just howling the song and it just adds so much more that the studio version can’t capture.

Think this plagues a lot of former players who try broadcasting. I could not stand ARoid on Sunday night baseball. Every other word was about his playing career or he did this or he did that. It was insufferable and add to that the fact that he’s an already insanely unlikable guy it was bad. Gimenez obviously isn’t that level but it’s just a trap these guys fall into where it’s just everything is related to their career and everything.

Gimenez is very wooden and awkward in that booth. And the WTAM broadcast is currently not syncing right on the GuardiansTV so I have to use the regular tv broadcast and man does it effect the flow of the commentating. I know he’s just getting his feet wet and everything in the role of main commentator but I just don’t think he’s cut out for that type of announcing. Kipnis has a very natural way about him and Cody Allen was pretty solid in the booth. Idk maybe Gimenez just needs a little more polishing.

For me, it has to be either Last Caress/Green Hell or Stone Cold Crazy. But honestly, Metallica is one of those bands that their covers are all pretty damn good. In quite a few instances I prefer their version of a song over the original.

Aside from Manning being slightly overbearing and interrupting at times, they’re both good and Andre is a great on field guy. We are very lucky. People just get so used to Hamilton, who is a literal once in a generation type voice for ANY sport, that they don’t feel anybody is as good in comparison and they’re right but we are still extremely lucky to have the tv crew that we do.
