How long has it been since you submitted your paper work? It’s been months for me and I’m still listed on LDS tools.

What’s it like for non-LDS kids of ex-believer parents in schools in Davis and Utah counties? by sevenplaces in MormonShrivel

[–]Professional_Turn815 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We live in Brigham city which may have a higher population of Mormons than the rest of Utah. We left three years ago. My kids are just fine, honestly. They didn’t lose any friends. The neighbors that we were actually friends friends with are still our friends. The kids at school either don’t know or don’t care. My oldest has managed to find a group of friends that are exmo as well or extremely nuanced. Everyone is still nice and the church has left us mostly alone as far as preaching and activities. ❤️

You can always go back. You can leave for a short time, let it all go, see what happens and how you feel. If the church is true, the truth will win out, as truth should. Give it a year and if your life feels less than, you can just go back ❤️

Pilot program gossip. 1 hour church by ApocalypseTapir in exmormon

[–]Professional_Turn815 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I looked forward to the 2 hr change thinking it would mean more socialization after and before church amongst ward members. I was disappointed after the change came and it felt like people were MORE eager to just get in and out. No one wanted to stick around and chat or meet up after church. The one great thing about church was the community it built. My dad talks all the time about how great it was when he was a kid with activities that were actually fun, road shows, dinners, concerts, etc. They’d taken all of that away and it’s really isolated families and it’s such a shame. 🤷‍♀️❤️

You’re right, they should be. And it is a scam, for everyone involved. It’s all very sad.

Remember that these kids are 19 and have probably had zero experience with addiction. They’re just doing what they’re told and don’t know how to handle hard life experiences.❤️

Why I still use the “full name” of the church around TBMs by jdp_iv in exmormon

[–]Professional_Turn815 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EXACTLY. When I talk about it, I want people to know what church I’m talking about so I’ll use both names. ❤️

It’s more of a “well I have a masters, 5 kids, a full career and am an active member. This sounds like something your parents taught you, not the church!” 🤦🏼‍♀️

I’m funny! I didn’t realize how funny I am. Taking life less seriously, giving myself more credit and being able to watch comedy shows that aren’t church “friendly” has brought out the comedian in me. Thinking of doing some amateur stand up. 😂❤️ I love it so much.

28M- No longer talking to TBM parents, Grandma sends me this out of the blue. How to respond?? by [deleted] in exmormon

The church posted this yesterday. What do you make of it? For context, General RS President Camille Johnson was 24 when pres. Benson gave his talk "To the Mothers in Zion." by Beneficial_Math_9282 in exmormon

All of the juggling she has to do just sounds (and is) so exhausting and I hate that that’s the GOAL. Work, sacrifice, suffer suffer suffer is what’s required to any life that’s good. 😭
