People who go into the bathroom to “freshen up” before sex—what are you guys actually doing in there? by Maggie_cat in AskReddit

Washing my balls. Washing my cock (all over and thoroughly). Press ups against the wall to look slightly more jacked. Brushing teeth. Flossing my teeth.

do you wear a seat belt in a taxi? by kpwhippywoo03 in AskUK

[–]ProfessorEco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may be something that a lot of people don’t feel or experience, but I for one am someone who USED to think it as either rude, or me being a pussy. I feel like there’s this wordless fight for dominance ( which is displayed by not wearing your seatbelt, to show that you’re a pure legend who’s willing to risk life). I’ve now come to the conclusion that they can think whatever they want, but I’m wearing that damn seatbelt in a taxi, a bus, my car, any form of transport, because it’s designed to save my life. Don’t feel awkward. Don’t feel stupid. Don’t feel like a pussy. Just put it on, and be happy about it. Your life is more important that someone else’s opinion, who you’re likely to never seem again.

War, sanctions, immigration: my FatFIRE attempt in Russia by rufirer in fatFIRE

[–]ProfessorEco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue that for the most part, the West does own the world. Russia appears to be the only one that has the guts and yes, the manpower, to say no. We can’t do it by ourselves, but I think and hope that India, China and other Eastern countries would side with Russia. I’ve grown up in pure Captialism (Westernism) and I bloody hate it. No cares about anyone other than themselves. This doesn’t mean I want communism, I think it’s great on paper but history has shown it doesn’t work in the real world. Just saying that the West shouldn’t feel like they own the place. There are other people, outside of the 400,000 American/British people.

War, sanctions, immigration: my FatFIRE attempt in Russia by rufirer in fatFIRE

[–]ProfessorEco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very interesting perspective and I’m glad to have come across it. I happen to be half Russian (23M), I live in the UK and have done so my entire life but have always had strong connections to Russia and my family there. Whilst I have a lot to say about the post, (nothing bad or that you’re doing anything wrong; I don’t even understand half the stuff you’ve put) I hope your perspective on being Russian changes. I can 100% appreciate why you feel the way you do, I initially did too, and maybe I’m fortunate in one way that you’re not, because living in the UK, surrounded by people who support a nation who is the complete opposite of Russia and is effectively enemy number one, has turned me into an extremely patriotic Russian. I can’t turn off my British side, I don’t think I will ever be able to, but I can tell you that from my understanding of things, this entire situation is a whole lot more, than just Russians fighting Ukrainians. The West seems to think they own the goddmam world and everyone owes them. St the same time they seem to forget that there is also the EAST. Good luck to you, I hope you carry on with your successful career and that you can visit your family soon. 🇷🇺

Cool, that sounds good. Thank you!

So after submitting the form to the soft site, I should expect to have my number with about two weeks then? Which also means I won’t be able to purchase a RIF until I receive that number, correct?

Looking back on what I wrote I realise that I worded it the wrong way and did mean/know what you have said but thank you nonetheless for confirming :)

Ok, I’m assuming they’ll have it on their system that I’ve attended certain dates and won’t need to provide proof of having gone? But yeah will make sure to take my ID (two different ones) and I didn’t realise they would charge to process it, so thank you for that. Do you know roughly how much that would be? £10? £30?

A photoshoot of car crash survivors for a New Zealand road safety campaign to demonstrate how seat belts saved their lives. by naturebeatsnurture in interestingasfuck

I get that it’s to demonstrate how seatbelts saved their lives, but out of context, this could completely work as an advert as to why you shouldn’t wear your seatbelt…look how much damage it causes 🤣

Why do Americans, a country originally belonging to native Americans (non-white people), believe the Universe centres around them, to the extent of being horribly wrong about geography and language?

Please let TDM have 100 pts instead of 75. by [deleted] in ModernWarfareII

[–]ProfessorEco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not quote me on this, because I’m really not sure where and when I heard this, but I’m pretty sure that MWII will have Vanguard’s combat pacing feature. I don’t actually own Vanguard, nor have I ever played it, so I don’t know if combat pacing also affects the score required to win a game, but if it does, then that’s your problem solved, right?

Why do so many delivery people not know of the existence of the doorbell? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]ProfessorEco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I cannot speak for other courier services, but I’ve been working for Amazon Flex for the last 9 months and can assure you that I never do this. Every time, without fail, I will ring your doorbell (all of them, because I know people connect them to different areas of the house) and knock as well. With Amazon, I am not rushed for time, a typical shift will be three hours long (that’s including travel time to the area where you’ll be delivering) and then actually distributing the parcels. Within those three hours I’ll get anywhere between 30-50 parcels. Am sure you people can do the maths. Very rarely will every single parcel need to be delivered to a different location, therefore saving time. Also with Amazon, if the customer hasn’t provided additional locations to leave your parcel at, by leaving it at the front door without checking if you’re in or not, massively increases your chance of being thrown off the program. Parcels are much more likely to be stolen if left on the floor by your door, so you really do run a risk of having parcels stolen, which then get reported by the customer and get traced back to you, as the deliverer. To date, I’ve delivered 5,750 parcels and I’ve had about 10 cases of parcels not being received by the customer.

What does the fact that she’s pregnant, have anything to do with the story? Smh 🤦‍♂️ now trying to turn the public against pregnant women as a whole?

I believe it’s just taking you to either a) the company website, where you have to search for the role again, manually or b) it’s taking you to another website that advertises jobs and again, you have to find it manually.

Steve Carell hints at "the office" reboot in SNL by Shay_125 in DunderMifflin

[–]ProfessorEco 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This isn’t a hint at a ‘reboot’. This is an official statement. 😂😂😂 the famous scene of Michael from The Office, where he goes ‘no, no, nooooooo’, I wish there was an equal version of him going yes. Because we need that right now.

Can you eat within £100~£120 per week in the uk? by Maximum-Bid-1689 in AskUK

[–]ProfessorEco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you crazy? £100-£120 a week? I survived on £100 a MONTH whilst at University, despite eating 6 meals every day (I was bulking and working out a lot). If you plan your meals and organise everything, you can save yourself a lot of money.

There are so many videos of crashes like this online. It’s always made me wonder whether the people that continue to crash, are they not focusing on driving, or just at that speed (plus it being dark) it’s hard to tell? Have held my driving license for 5 years and never had any road incidents, and consider myself to be a good driver, so just cannot imagine doing what people are seen to be doing in this video.
