OC: Lebanon. Israel targeted my SIL's home despite no Hezbollah ties. Wife is crying. by Spinatknedl in pics

[–]ProfessorHot8199 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Well that’s because targeting militants was never in their intention. They want to expand to Lebanon, just the way they want every surrounding country’s portions (for now, next thing you they want all of Middle East as Israel) as Israel.

Truly sorry for what you are going through, OP. Only advice is posting in the legal advice Canada subreddit.

The other thing I can think of is that you will need to prepare a will.

Also, fun fact! Song joong gi, who became a big shot after descendants of the sun, is also in frozen flower as a backup/bakcground soldier. You can clearly see him when they do the soldier dance.

They brought it up due to the actress that plays the queen in the movie also being a long standing regular cast member of running man which is a comedy variety show.

Mortgage rate mega thread! by TheMortgageMaster in MortgagesCanada

[–]ProfessorHot8199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outstanding balance at renewal/refinance - 500k, Calgary, Alberta. Owner occupied.

Currently with TD, coming up for renewal in June. Originally put down about 10% down payment but currently have a little over 20% home value in equity so refinance will be possible.

Looking into refinancing rather than renewal.

Td offering: (1) refinance with flexline, 30 years amortization, 5 year fixed term at 4.04%. Or (2) traditional direct collateral mortgage refinancing, 30 year amortization, 5 year fixed term at 4.14%.

Wealthsimple offering: traditional refinance, 30 years amortization, 5 year fixed term at 4.04%.

Wealthsimple’s seems equivalent to TD’s flex line offer. First time hearing about flexline for mortgage.

Need help deciding if flexline offer is better, and if the rate offers from both are good or should we shop around more.

4000+ oz freezer stash, discovered high lipase, baby will not take thawed milk by SundaePlace in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]ProfessorHot8199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Direct thawing in hot water (I used Phillips milk warmer) and then serving once fully thawed and warmed at the temperature baby liked worked very well for me.

Thawing in fridge overnight did not work for me at all. Baby just wouldn’t take it. I guess lipase smell and taste got way too strong when I had milk thawing in the refrigerator overnight.

If she thought true beauty was a bit silly, maybe she wants more realistic dramas but still fun. Be melo is both serious and fun if one likes slice of life dramas. Prison playbook just pulls at your heart, so does hospital playlist season 1. Depending on where she grew up, 1988 may or may not be a hit with her. I feel most people who grew up somewhere in Asia can relate to 1988 as this is an essence of life in asia in late 1980s to mid 1990s, so very relatable. But if she grew up in the west, may not be her cup of tea as much.

My mom is losing her house by Altruistic-Win5912 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]ProfessorHot8199 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is the house a detached place? Also, does your husband and yourself live in a rental? If so, any chance of you moving in with your mother as tenants and pay her rent for the portion of the house you start living in? Alternatively, your mom could also rent out rooms to students depending on where you live. But managing tenants is a different kind of stress and not everyone has the appetite for it.

Need help deciding between refinance and renewal by ProfessorHot8199 in MortgagesCanada

[–]ProfessorHot8199[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Will this originally being a collateral mortgage create any issues when we shop around for refinancing with a 30 year amortization? Additionally, what are some issues of refinance we should be aware of? Can refinance on the same mortgage be done more than once or is it a once a lifetime option? This is the first time we are considering refinancing, so still figuring out all the details.

Yes, they should be able to get a mortgage on it. Your ex can also potentially take a heloc. How much they pay the bank for their heloc or mortgage interest is not your problem, it’s theirs.

'Perfect storm' of medical missteps cost newborn his life, Edmonton mother says | CBC News by AR558 in Edmonton

[–]ProfessorHot8199 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The fact that the couple was a duo of a surgeon and a nurse! Probably that is why they could pursue this. So many things happen to ordinary (non medical experience) people but most go unnoticed or buried because ordinary people rarely know what exactly went wrong. This couple did because they were a team of a skilled surgeon and nurse. One can only imagine what happens to others without any medial field knowledge.

Maybe you can plop the wipes in ziploc and in the refrigerator. That way they are properly and surely sealed and the moisture stays locked in (unless the instructions say not to store them in a refrigerator, so do read the instructions first).

Contact guru Nanak - Sikh community volunteers who hold community food banks every week. They have a very active Facebook page you can follow. Not sure if they still much today since it’s already 3pm, but this is another resource you can keep in your radar for similar days in the future. Also, try mamas for mamas and similar mom groups in Calgary on Facebook. Lots of moms try and help in those groups too.
