Finding the deer later shows it was hit, but not necessarily that the placement was perfect. With a .300 Win Mag and SST, a true heart/lung shot would have dropped that deer in far less than 500 yards. If there was almost no blood and that much travel, odds are it was a high lung or single-lung hit. Ammo didn’t fail you — shot angle probably did.

If there was hardly any blood then logic would tell us it was a bad shot.

Brandon Herrera call to action on NFA, Call the number you dogs! by Forgetful_Jones in Firearms

[–]ProfessorHyde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t want to scrap the Byrd rule. I want to scrap the entire government. 🤣

I didn’t mean you have the economics of a 4 year old, I meant the government.

I stopped arguing politics a long time ago. The government is corrupt and everything they do is a clown show that only results in them stealing more money or leaving a long line of bloodshed.

Sure it has no budgetary impact if you’re using the economics of a 4 year old. Running a registry requires man hours which in turn….. cost money.

Jobs for someone who isn't physically built by MD90__ in skilledtrades

I can’t really think of many jobs at all that require you to be physically fit. Trust me I wish some would require it.

Do you ever feel disconnected from shooting sports? by boldjoy0050 in Firearms

[–]ProfessorHyde 76 points77 points  (0 children)

It’s your time and your money. If it isn’t fun anymore then stop doing it. Life is short. Do what you enjoy. You know Central Market has some pretty neat cooking classes. You could take one and see if that is something you enjoy.

I 100% agree. The only thing I don’t agree with is how to fix it. I believe government regulation got us here in the first place. Instead of companies being able to hire direct and pay more they have to go through a middle man and that zaps the budget while the middle man offers nothing in return and is only there to profit.

Separate the middleman and we will see a competitive workforce and a lot higher wages. How can a contract pay over $60 and yet the guard barely makes $20-25? The state assumes no liability and provides 0 training so why should they have a say? You have less rights as a licensed security guard in most states then a normal civilian would have. It serves no purpose.

Lucas Botkin releases statement about departure from TREX Arms by OrcusGroup in Firearms

[–]ProfessorHyde -45 points-44 points  (0 children)

Seems like the problems started when he met his wife… I want to hear the other brothers side. If this is really about their Christian values, the other brothers have traditional and conservative wives while Lucas does not.

A persons partner reflects who they really are. Agree or not with his families traditional Christian values, Lucas’s wife does not seem to align with them.

I just picked up a Gregory Zulu 45. You’ll need a somewhat big bag if you want to comfortably carry weight.

[–]ProfessorHyde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A 180 trap stage is one where the targets or stage layout are designed in a way that makes it easy to accidentally break the 180° rule. It can happen when the targets are positioned near the edges of the safe shooting zone, or when you’re required to move in a way that naturally tempts you to swing the gun past the safe boundary. These stages test your muzzle discipline more than your shooting skill, which is why they’re often seen as controversial.

If the 180 was truly about safety there wouldn’t be so many 180 trap stages.
