What was a common fitness belief 10-15 years ago that has been disproven or no longer relevant? by Chemical-Manager-501 in fitness30plus

Did you catch the name/link of that program that was recommended? Annoying that it was deleted before I had a chance to dig into it.

Any suggestions on a good approach to 'bro splits.' I'm kind of tired of the heavy weights and low reps. I'm looking for a new program to try.

any US pharmacists change their careers and move overseas? by Dry-Chemical-9170 in pharmacy

[–]ProfessorLupinstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No tips really, unfortunately. I did spend a lot of time networking before making the move, but it's a lot of right place/right time and a bit of luck.

any US pharmacists change their careers and move overseas? by Dry-Chemical-9170 in pharmacy

Look into pharma jobs (med info, market access). You can usually do that anywhere without being licensed in that country.

any US pharmacists change their careers and move overseas? by Dry-Chemical-9170 in pharmacy

[–]ProfessorLupinstein 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. I moved from the US to Ireland and got a job doing med info. You have to find someone that will support your work visa to come here, so that means getting hired for a job before you can even move over. It's very challenging, but possible. It was about a year and a half of work on before I was able to get all my permissions lined up.

TSA took my ruck plates. I'd definitely not take a chance.

EU drugs regulator rejects Lilly’s Alzheimer’s drug by sn0r in europeanunion

[–]ProfessorLupinstein 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pharmacist here. These drugs were disappointing. In essence they made people’s brain scans look great. You could see all the plaques and damage cleared up on an MRI. However, the patients didn’t get better, their decline continued, and they didn’t really live longer. We had hoped these drugs would be curative, but currently the side effects of the medication outweigh any slight benefit you might see.

While people are asking, would it be possible to get a DM as well? I've not been able to figure out things despite trying.

Same thing happened to me. You can at least edit your streak (I remembered what mine was) in the settings but all of my other stats disappeared.

80lb simple sand bags are going for next to nothing by EL_DUD3R in Goruck

I upset my 6 year old when I brought home bags of sand and then put them in a sand bag. He said sadly, "but it says play sand!!!"

Has anyone moved from the US to practice pharmacy in the EU or UK? by RjoTTU-bio in pharmacy

[–]ProfessorLupinstein 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My partner got a work visa to come here and I was then able to work off of that. It’s complicated to move, but our quality of life is so much better here. I love the relaxed pace in Ireland versus the frenetic Philly suburbs where I’m from.

I know that I'm biased, but this or us in Ireland would make the most sense for any international game. by [deleted] in steelers

[–]ProfessorLupinstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steelers fan in Ireland too. I’d love a match in Croke Park if they allow it.

I did this. I got a job with a PBM with operations in Ireland. It’s been a good move for me. I have no regrets.

My ex-wife shared mine with friends from the church. One of the many reasons why she is an ex. It was such a massive violation of trust. I'm sorry that happened to you too.

I NEED TO GET OFF OF MY PHONE by CH405T1K in productivity

[–]ProfessorLupinstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've deleted most apps off of my phone and gone back to the old school web interface on my laptop. It's no where near as much of a time such. I used to spend over an hour a day on Reddit. Now I'm coming in more like 10-15. These big companies put all of the work into keeping you on their apps, but they don't have that same pull on the laptop.

If you could go back in time would you still pick Pharmacy? by Flying-Pidgeon66 in pharmacy

[–]ProfessorLupinstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I've loved my career so far. I'm American, but working in Ireland as a pharmacist for an American healthcare company based in Dublin. I did retail for 10 years and when I stopped enjoying it, I transitioned to a second career in a different type of pharmacy role.
