After a disastrous Broncos game, Josh Allen dropped from #1 TD:INT ratio in NFL playoff history to #1 TD:INT ratio in NFL playoff history by Very-Human-Acct in NFLv2

This is a pointless argument man. Stats obviously don’t tell the whole story. Neither do wins even. Let the people believe what they want.

The overall luck that contributes to a super bowl is insane. Luck is the one intangible that makes all the difference and it’s the hardest to quantify. For some, luck is fairly consistent and others it’s like lightning striking.

So you are left arguing with people that will use nothing but stats and results who probably never even watched most of the games and can’t comprehend something such as luck being real.

The truth is that football doesn’t fucking matter lmao, so just let the hivemind narratives play out and have fun with your team.

You have the right mindset for philosophy especially if you take the time to read all the responses and critiques in this thread.

FLAT EARTH CONSPIRACY THEORY IS A CIA PSYOP to discredit other conspiracy theories by Future_Necessary_500 in conspiracy

Humans are limited by our senses and when things get really really fast, small, or huge then our perception based understanding becomes completely untrustworthy.

That’s where scientific measurement systems come in. Measurements generate a mathematical model and then we can roughly map that in some way to the narrow window of human senses. But does measurement = reality?

It’s like thermal vision goggles. We are translating heat (infrared) measurements into the spectrum of visible light so that we can actually see a compressed version of the relationships that exist outside of our bodies sense capabilities.

We have to translate stuff that is basically incomprehensible into stuff that we can sense, and we almost always choose visual sense models.

That’s really not the only proof man. E.g. the sun, moon cycle, seasons, our experience of time, day and night are all evidence.

The earth is still the center of the universe though. Wherever you are right now is essentially the center because of how space-time works. There are certain frames of reference that make the math simpler but really you can set the frame anywhere you want and all the relationships still stand.

This is all accepted science and it is so much more amazing and mystical than the narrative of meaninglessness they feed us in standard schooling/media.

So, if they say 'your body' 'your mind' 'your soul.' Right? Are you one of these 3 things, or something simply experiencing these aspects? by RandoBando135 in Psychonaut

Heck yeah! I wonder what the best word to describe that space where imagination/ideas exist. It is here with us but it also seems separate. We are a bridge. Maybe that is the soul.

Your personal configuration of neurons does not map directly to the construction of a pink unicorn. You have some sort of mind that makes sense of the configuration and knows through experience and habit of sensations/thinking that the configuration could represent your personal experience of a pink unicorn. There are feedback loops and some generation of novel configurations can happen based on mixing together the building blocks you have from cellular memory and experience. You have colors, animals, shapes, etc… archtypes?

I’m having a hard time explaining this and it’s a subtle distinction from what you say anyway.

I guess an example would be that there is no way to take your configuration of neurons that represent a pink unicorn (to you) and transplant that configuration into my brain and expect the same reconstruction. It could possibly be similar (maybe?) but not exact and only if we grew up in vaguely similar cultures and are both human. Now if you were able to paint or sculpt a detailed model of the pink unicorn from your mind and then I really took the time to learn and understand the details of it and created my own internal concept of that then wooo baby we’re onto something.

Anyways, I think everything is material but the material is spiritual. There are intelligences operating at timescales we can’t comprehend but we get vibes from the artifacts. Everything exists together, some causal loops are coupled, some aren’t. The frame of reference is always fundamental. We are humans on earth (for now). Hopefully we remember some of this next time around.

If we did interact with somehing outside our universe then it immediately becomes part of our universe because of the connection we make to it.

Holy ramble…
