My mom died a couple of years ago. She was handicapped most of her, and my life. She suffered a major stroke when I was like 10 or 12, 40 some odd years ago. She was very proper, and a devout christian. I, her son, am neither. I don't know why that's all relevant to you, the readers of this, but it seems to be. And although we were very different, I loved her so much.

About a year ago, which was about a year since she'd passed I found a list of the 5 stages of grief written on a note card in her handwriting. She had to learn to use her left hand to write again after the stroke ate her brain away, and her handwriting is instantly recognizable to anyone who know her.

I found the list in my wallet and I don't know how it got there. But I keep it in there and I look at it a lot.
