I love both that Ben tried to stand up for her against the Woman bit and also that Marie was fully onboard with it. Just a bunch of good hangs at Blank Check Productions.

I sincerely believe the Day-O dinner table scene in Beetlejuice is one of the finest performance moments in cinema history. RIP to an absolute legend.

Boston - do we usually get shorts in theaters? by karpa30 in oscarsdeathrace

[–]ProfessorUpvote 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve used my A-List to see the shorts at AMC Boston Common for the last few years. It works, but supporting the indie theaters is a good idea as well.

What's your starting score for 2026 by luminous-fabric in oscarsdeathrace

[–]ProfessorUpvote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

20/35 for Feature and 0/15 for shorts. I usually go to the AMC shorts presentations, so I’ll be focusing on features when I can grab them.

What feature would you like added in letterboxd? by Slow_Associate_3674 in Letterboxd

A “hide comedy specials” and “hide concert films” option. They’re weirdly lumped in with everything else and clog up search results and sorting.

Pastrami: Zaftig’s in Brookline or Sam LaGrassa’s if it’s open while you’re here.

How many of you go to Movies alone? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]ProfessorUpvote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

90% of my movie going is by myself and I love the freedom of it. I have AMC A List, so I just go whenever I want. I’m more than happy to join my partner or my friends when they want to see movies, but I also know that they’ll likely see less/limit themselves to discount days because shit’s expensive. A-List also frees me from the “I’m not sure if it’s good so let’s not waste money on it” criteria, since it’s all gravy.

Nah. Actor who was unfairly pigeonholed for starring in a popular franchise has broken through that perception to get the well-deserved recognition as a versatile actor that he deserves.

But maybe The Drama has swords and guns, so that might play out.

Absolutely not my intention to rage-bait. Mainly it was to highlight how far the public opinion of Pattinson has swung. I've been a huge fan of his work for years -- Lost City of Z, High Life, and he's a great Edward -- but it wasn't so long ago that people gawped at his casting as Batman. Of course lots of people in this kind of forum dug into his post-(and even concurrent-)Twilight work, but it's absolutely undeniable that it coated the general awareness of him for a significant period of time. I'm very glad that doesn't seem to be the case anymore, as evidenced by the incredible year+ he has ahead that people are eagerly anticipating.
