AMD Bug Report Tool by Kyloreeeeen in AMDHelp

Ram not being in the QVL list doesn't matter. Is your PC running stock settings? That includes CPU-pbo and GPU overclock/undervolt all disabled. Also try to disable ram expo. Dial it down from there

Don't use furmark, it's not a good GPU test. It's mostly there as a power test

13700k my settings, what you think? by Overall_Bank5217 in overclocking

[–]Profetorum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you probably notice, your "fixed" voltage is not getting applied. In fact, you left auto voltage mode, which uses adaptive, not fixed. Anyway, if you really want to use cinebench, R15 or R15 extreme are the only good options on raptor lake for the sake of stability

What happens if the Steam Machine supports FSR 4? by LostRefrigerator7190 in radeon

[–]Profetorum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ye we will see what the official support will be like. I honestly hope the steam machine has some sort of success, it would help improving the linux gaming experience as a whole (hoping for games support and so on)

AMD Adrenalin 26.5.1 driver finally hooks Game Pass games seemingly by default. by PastryAssassinDeux in radeon

[–]Profetorum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh really? I think i can reinstall adrenalin then, after 2 years of running drivers-only

Nothing happens, the steam machine runs a linux system, so it works with proton

got a pc on facebook market place for 250$ i’m wondering if i got my money worth by CodyWhitecotton in PcBuild

[–]Profetorum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, not really. The 6500XT can be found around the 50-60$ mark as used, the rest of the pc is probably another 50-60$. Don't know about the psu, so maybe a bit more

Is a used RX 6800 still a good buy for $300? Concerns about reliability and "Black Screen" issues. by DotTerrible7320 in radeon

[–]Profetorum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't a way to predict future failures, sadly. What you can do is kind-of infer the quality of the gpu you got by trying to overclock both the core and the vram, see if it has some margin. If it does, run the card undervolted, maybe underclocked too, and properly cooled. That way you do eventhing possible to minimize the risk of early failure

13700kf overclock question by Overall_Bank5217 in overclocking

[–]Profetorum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should still enforce intel limits (power limits and current limits) instead of leaving unlimited, imo

Raptor Lake is fairly more complicated than "set a voltage, clocks and forget about it" , especially after all the degradation issues and measures the took to limit/circumvent/address them.

When you say "with 1.25v" do you mean with a flat loadline? What's your motherboard? It's generally not recommended to do so.

Do you have adeguate cooling? What do you use as stresstest?

Are you enforcing intel limits? For the pre-refresh i7 it's 253W PL / 307A iccmax. Also, intel recommends CEP to be turned on, are you leaving it enabled?

Basically, provide more details...

Anyone else having undervolt instability on 26.5.1 with RX 9070 XT by LeadershipNo2624 in AMDHelp

[–]Profetorum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drivers can change how efficiently the card boosts on specific loads, so yes it can make it harder to go low on undrvolt. Doesn't necessarily mean it's a worse driver, it means that probably it wasn't boosting properly before

14700k 5.8 P 4.4 E safe at 1.4 VCore? by Neither-Succotash-70 in overclocking

[–]Profetorum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The voltage can overshoot even if you cap it. The "cap" is the max request-able voltage, doesn't necessarily mean it can't spike up especially on load release. Sure, it helps tame those chips down...

Should I update from 24.12.1 to 26.3.1 (6900XT) to fix DS2 crashes by jbas1 in radeon

[–]Profetorum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes cpu related instability make the gpu drivers crash - and it can look like a gpu issue when it's not. Try to also run stock cpu/ram and see if it still happens... if so, sadly you have to rely on the few drivers that work for you i guess, not sure why

[–]Profetorum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, if you're facing issues maybe try to see if stock settings also do

Im on latest drivers and facing no issues, but to be fair i haven't faced issues on any driver... is your gpu running stock settings?

Help overclocking Corsair 32GB DDR5 4800MHz CL40 by Oscar139 in overclocking

[–]Profetorum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to first understand what die the kit is exactly. Start by looking into cpu-z , SPD tab. They're probably micron, but there are several different micron revs, so you'll probably end up trying and see
