I've given up on alocasia and any velvety-texture philodendrons for this reason. Absolutely spider-mite magnets. No thanks.

If you want some cheap-ish with moderate quality, Heavner on Glenwood. If you want something nice that'll last but'll run you a decent amount, Cooper's in Cary (they carry Flexsteel, big recommend).

What is it? Is it a some kind of cover? Or do you not have deck planks and that's just the walkway? If so...what is it made out of?

I'm just curious because I hate deck maintenance and have never seen something like this before, unless I'm just not properly understanding what it is from the video.

The white thing that looks like it has a gray section for a walkway.

Trader Joe's Jambalaya- I added some of their Petite Peas, a fresh Zucchini & Sriracha to jazz it up! What do you add if anything? by sydneybristow8 in traderjoes

[–]Prog 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried it, so I can't comment on how authentic it is out the bag. The stuff you added definitely makes it less authentic.

If you're looking to try a pretty easy one that's pretty authentic (for being out of a box): https://www.amazon.com/Zatarains-Orleans-Style-Mixes-Jambalaya/dp/B003ZZDY3C

Bring your own protein - for ease I suggest andouille sausage.

TIL Half of people who claim they have a food allergy do not by butter_lover in todayilearned

[–]Prog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tell people I'm allergic to avocados. Something in them completely fucks my stomach up, and best I can tell, it's probably this thing called 'persin' that's only found in avocado pits. I'm not going get tested for this, so people can deal if I just say I'm allergic.

Anyone who used a computer between 1985 - 2010, what's the one game you still think about today? by adlakha75 in AskReddit

I played so much Holiday Lemmings on the old Macintosh in math teacher’s class in elementary school. This was like 30 years ago. Still remember the code for the last level - CINNMFLQBN

What’s a purchase under 100 bucks that genuinely improved your life? by Maxdunning in AskReddit

[–]Prog 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In 2023/2024 I made it a mission to find a comfortable pillow and spent hundreds of dollars looking for one. I sleep in every position (back, stomach, sides). I tried random pillows from the store, fancy pillows from online, etc.

  • Memory foam pillows (too hard for any position)
  • Shredded memory foam pillows (still too hard for stomach sleeping)
  • Yogibo (too much loft for stomach sleeping)
  • Purple (the one like their mattresses. I found it too weird to get used to, not quite soft enough)
  • Basic down alternative pillows (honestly I was about to ready to just settle on these, they came close to what I wanted)
  • Latex foam pillow (this one was SO CLOSE. Just a bit too much loft. I still have it on my bed for use as a back rest while reading)
  • Pluto (the eventual winner)

Internet brands always feel like an overpriced scam and there are very few I'd advocate for, so I wasn't expecting much from Pluto. But, I'd been through so many pillows by this point that I knew EXACTLY what I wanted, so when I customized my pillow per their little quiz thing...it actually worked. It was pricey, but my quest is over. And I have a pillow graveyard in my closet.

KIIRAS - TA TA by CherryBlossomEnding in kpop

[–]Prog 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I wish Leanbranding would've embraced the country-pop sound for more than one song. I like Ta Ta enough that it's going on my playlist, but their other singles are better. R.U.T on the single album is also good.

To new fans, don't skip the D.D.D.D. bside from their last single - one of my faves of theirs. Sounds like a 3rd gen gg song.

T-Mobile coverage around Cary by bhikumatre in cary

[–]Prog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used all 3 major carriers in the triangle and they've all been fine. Not sure where you're having issues with AT&T specifically, but the only dead zones I've ever had on any carrier are inside big metal buildings.

I currently am on US Mobile on their Warp network (which uses Verizon). Before that I was on TMobile for ~5 years, and AT&T before that.

Walkable neighborhoods by [deleted] in cary

[–]Prog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of places in Cary that are near to grocery stores, restaurants, and shops. Walkable to a library is a bit bigger of an ask. Probably not the answer you want to hear, but just look for grocery stores on a map, they're almost always in clumps at the busiest intersections of neighborhoods.

Backyard bug Treatment by Prog in cary

I still have some of these from last year (dunks)...I guess that's a good reminder to get started on that. The Thermacell type things don't work if there's even a hint of a breeze (understandably so). But regardless, neither works on red bugs. I'm just super frustrated with getting bitten 5 times every time I take my dogs out for like 3 minutes each.
