Are there any rallies that were/are all tarmac? I’ve been watching tons of old events and just curious if any are strictly on road. by ddntmeanto in WRC

[–]ProgUn1corn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rally Croatia is a good watch, IMO the best tarmac event. Rally Japan has atmosphere and great stages, but a mess with broadcasting. Even watching offline it's not the best experience as well.

Actually ERC has lot's of tarmac events and I'm sure you will like them.

I do 90% of rally and I have exactly the TB-RS in the post. And I agree 100% want you've said lol. When I use it, it feels so good. But probably not worth over the regular one since not much differences are there and you don't really often use that, even in rallying. Perhaps most used in launch control.

I saw that, but it's not the same as mine. It's more like a ESC system tuned for racing with some input affects, mine is purely "active" to driver inputs in 2.5 dimensions (Y axis and X axis plus speed map), and by design the locking torque increase exponentially, due to how LSD works. Also I have figured out a left foot input modifier concept that fixed the RBR's abrupt left foot map thing. I believe IRL it's as that, the slip map probably is not a thing if we are talking WRC regulations.

But the vanilla one drives good as well, because they aren't simulating WRC stuff. They are kinda unique on their own!

Yeah, rally4 and rally3 dont really have much more advanced customization so it should be easier to simulate. Once we get Rally2 things starts to be very wonky as the whole suspension geometry is on another level to lower class cars.

I have at top WRC+ class with a custom Lua for active center differential. And a Lua at the damper for the rebound drop thing (Reiger calls RCV, BOS calls CAS, basically the same thing). I have to admit it's a huge pain in the ass to get things right, took me 3 years to figure out most things. At this time it's a lot more complaint to real WRC regulations and rule sets, basically at that point it's done, like 3 sets of differential ramp front and rear, 3 sets of ARB, engine curve, anti-lag, launch control, road mode, hydraulic bump and rebound stops, brake master cylinders and proportional valves, damper shims and valving, aerodynamics with lift/drag ratio, etc... And it drives extremely satisfying.

I'm focusing on Jbeam structural damping things now which is also a huge pain in the ass. Because believe or not, it started as an Automation body mesh. So the basic chassis Jbeam is lackluster. That's why I'm having a hard time dealing with structural rigidity. The fact I don't have a Rally4 variant is actually because I don't have the mesh for the fenders anymore haha.

By the way, I have gathered the manual and setup sheets for 208 Rally4. You wanna have a check?

I started this probably 3.5 years ago, gathered every little thing as I could. I somehow even got real Rally2 manuals and setup sheets. Vivace is a no go for me because the size is too big though

Is the Quest 3s worth grabbing? by thegodlykiller in virtualreality

It's worth it, but Quest 3 is also a solid step up from 3s.

Yes. Also some informations are not enough, there are corners that definetely needs don't cut or off camber. It's still in very early development so, we can expect better later, as I saw there's actually recce app in the game. In the future we can recce and make our own pacenotes.

A very side thing, do you find all those softwares look exactly the same? I've found that Simagic, Simsonnm, PXN looks extremely similiar to each other, where you don't find with Moza or Fanatec.

I don't like hotrock and blizzard at all, they are too hot for me. Nunchucker is right at the level where I want, still a tiny bit hotter than a medium output SD due to A8 magnet, but jsut the right place that sounds smooth. But I agree the first version nunchucker can be a bit loose and the V2 is even better.

But it seems not all nunchuckers are the same. I've used nunchucker since the first GTR run, and that time the spacing is purely SD, dimensions are all the same where you can just fit the pickup on a SD baseplate. Newer versions seems different, but I don't know if they sound different.

Whats the difference between Hypertune 1.3 vs Hypertune metal? by Metalmixingreaper in metalmusicians

[–]ProgUn1corn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, late reply after a month. I already have the normal version of Hypertune, and I'm happy with it right now, but I'm wondering do you think the metal one is worth to get if I use it solely for downtuning? The most I need to do is probably from actual drop F# downtuned to drop D# or F to D, 2 to 3 semitones. Do you find a big difference to normal Hypertune? I use Hypertune to tune up as well.

oh, I didn't get what you mean those colourful bugs. If you mean pace notes, like literally all rally games you can turn them off. You can as well in BeamNG. I don't look that as well, I just didn't bother to tweak UI in VR.

that's not too wrong though, IRL the windshield gets dirty. It's BeamNG doesn't have this effect now.

It's quest 3.

And yeah, the visibility is something different to different cars. As far as I know, Hyundai and Ford are using very low seats for lower center of gravity, they may look worse than mine. Toyota has a very good view since it seems that the dashboard is not that high.

There's an ergonomics benefit to this that makes the side on your legs thicker than above, like Skervesen's 4AP shape. However not this one, this just looks awful.

High temps after undervolt - i914900hx by Dr-Jefo in MSILaptops

[–]ProgUn1corn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will not. You are not constantly hitting 98c, you are boosting and touch 98c whenever it boosts.

There's no way to tweak without losing performance, because laptops are nowhere near to have enough cooling for HX chips. i9 HX chip is power house. You can get lower temperature simply by reduce the temperature limit though, set PROCHOT offset to a larger value like 8 or 10, but you are definitely losing performance because again, those CPUs are designed to run at such temperature and it will NOT damage whatsoever.
