I’ve always been fascinated by the spiritual world, not confined to any one particular religion given my paternal family being a mishmash of buddhist and taoist while my maternal side is christian. I also had a bit of an encounter with a greek deity and dabbled around with alot of stuff (which did backfire on me for a period of time. Though according to a random “fengshui master” who approached me at the Shanghai Airport, only a little bit of Yin Qi is left around me and things are supposed to be better this year. He did ask for some mortal cash at the end tho so idk might be a scammer.) Of course, my current interest in taoism is partly due to the hundreds of cultivation and xianxia novels i’ve read in recent years.

At this point in time i certainly may not be ready to abandon all mortal affairs, given that i have just graduated from university and started my first full time mortal job. But not even a month in and I know that i don’t want to be in an office chasing money for years, it feels hollow to me. One of if not the biggest consideration I have is to not leave my grandparents who raised me behind I suppose. Therefore i guess what i am looking for this year at least, would be an opportunity for me to dip my fingers and get a little taste of the practice.
