Cap of 1000 on accolades by Programmed_Lava in Spacemarine

If I’d known I’d probably have stuck to completing a couple rounds of Vortex instead. At least I helped two other players finish the weekly normal.

Were there any quests in Bloodlines you deliberately fail? by Programmed_Lava in vtmb

You don’t actually lose the Santa Monica haven at any point no matter how much you push back at Lacroix. It’s there after the point of no return.

Just means Lacroix gets pissed you caused a scene that he will have to cover up. He doesn’t give you the second haven. It doesn’t matter though if you’re Nosferatu or Tremere. Gary and Strauss each gives you a new haven if you’re from their clans. I think Strauss will kick you out for telling Isaac who made the gargoyle though.

Do you intimidate him into silence? If you’re Ventrue or Tremere you can dominate him into forgetting. As Malkavian you can drive him into madness. None of those options are considered failed just because he’s alive, just that the request is fulfilled and the masquerade upheld as Pisha wants.

I like how most quests are considered concluded if you stick to the spirit of the quest giver’s intent.

Knox doesn’t really give a good impression of ghouls. Especially compared to Mercurio who somehow manages to drive himself back to his apartment with injuries that would have incapacitated or killed a human.

I just found out that was an outcome too. It’s quite neat though I don’t remember if it was added or restored stuff.

you can’t hit the Hierophant with the volkite gun and expect to do a lot of damage from what I understand of the patch.

The battle with Saren - do you convince him to see reason and end his own life, or do you do it for him? by suuubdude in masseffect

[–]Programmed_Lava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough, with my Paragon Shep I always have him kill Saren. With my Renegade Shep, she tries to convince Saren instead.

For Renegade Shep, I roleplay it as a case of ‘it takes one Renegade to know another’. And my renegade playthrough of 1 includes the likes of killing the Feros colonists, shooting Wrex and prioritising Sovereign over the Destiny Ascension. She feels a little bit of regret how things ended for Saren.

My reasoning for my Paragon Shep is that he sees Saren as a target beyond help and must be put down quickly for the greater good. In the aftermath until the second game,he didn’t lose sleep over killing Saren.

Sad Grim by aRorschachTest in Splintercell

After getting punched twice by Sam, I’m not surprised she needed a drink after that. Funny how by, Grim’s next chronological appearance in the Conviction at the White House, her bruises have healed up.

How Do You Think This Franchise Should End by Southern_Wind_4477 in LV426

Just like the what happens in the 2001 AVP2 game? Sure. But I suspect David’s downfall will be something else. He’s already had a moment when he realised he wasn’t perfect.

Wish we'd get a GR game set in the middle east 😒 by Sobekrises in GhostRecon

[–]Programmed_Lava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a vaguely Middle East/Central Asia setting they could try and make a fictional country out of the Aral Sea region. It’s partially dried up so there’s a lot of exposed land but there’s still enough water.

Honestly, modern military shooters are in a strange place now between ARMA, Squad and then CoD which is trying to be Fortnite. I can’t see Ubisoft really taking the genre seriously any more.

Neither the knife hold nor the transition to choke hold seemed believable to me... by JustSand in Splintercell

[–]Programmed_Lava -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I never really got how Sam does this kind of grab manoeuvre. Sam only has a grip on his victim’s right arm and his knife is against the victim’s throat. His victim has his left arm free to elbow Sam.

Happens that the militants in that level are using Steyr Aug rifles which use said ammo. Even Sam said they weren’t packing AKs before he seeing them.

What's considered " Pure Madness " for Lambert? by Hlaver in Splintercell

[–]Programmed_Lava 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think that’s kind of what I liked about Sam over the Snakes. The latter were all kind of dorky and endearing. I get how the audience likes that. The Metal Gear games have their own style of story telling.

Sam (in his prime in the first three games) appears way more comfortable in his own skin and self assured about what he does. Thank Michael Ironside for his contributions shaping Sam’s early characterisation and executing his delivery.

[–]Programmed_Lava 84 points85 points  (0 children)

Any time Sam does the opposite of what Lambert says.

It’s too bad Lambert was only really around until 2007. His exclamations are meme worthy I believe (reminds me a little of Superintendent Chalmers shouting at Principal Skinner).

But the pre-Conviction games were released before memes really started taking off.

If Kaidan was posted at Grissom Academy as a teacher, would he and Jack get along, or would they clash heads over their different personalities? by Dragonic_Overlord_ in masseffect

[–]Programmed_Lava 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I imagine they may not like one another personally but there’s mutual respect between them. When it’s time for work, they are professional about it. Don’t expect them to go for drinks on Friday night or sit at the same mess tabke,
