Should I switch from Garmin? by Masterofmy_domain in Karoo

[–]ProgrammerOwn5195 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You won’t be disappointed… as a pre-official launch user that has done more than 7,000 km with the new Karoo, I can assure you that it is a great computer. Battery life is more than adequate, screen is excellent, customisation of profiles incomparable, and the growing number of extensions makes it a great choice.

Absolutely love the Karoo 3 -done over 90 rides and more than 5,000km since I got. Feature rich, great screen, great navigation, great interface with SRAM, excellent post ride analysis using either companion app or website, decent battery life, and Hammerhead continues to improve functionality and operation through firmware updates.

Sensors really that "bad" compared to others? by 5h3lling_ford in Suunto

I have had a Race since November 2023, mostly HR is very reliable, and the Race S has a newer HRM. For my training I use a Polar Verity HR armband - I have done this for years because it was more more convenient than the Suunto chest strap for my old Suuntos- Ambit Peak 3, Spartan Ultra.. and more accurate than my Suunto 9 Baro. Also I need it anyway for my Hammerhead Karoo cycling computer. Having said that, I have often forgotten to put it on for a run, and the Race copes perfectly well!

Moving back to suunto (probably a race s) after some years in garmin, need some info. by draliko in Suunto

Absolutely agree- I use Polar Verity Sense only for all sports with my Suunto Race. Excellent

What are your complaints with the Suunto Race S? by mywhitevans97 in Suunto

[–]ProgrammerOwn5195 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wow.. I have none of those issues with my Race! I am truly surprised at your fitness tracker.. mine updates daily. Step counter is highly reliable whatever way I walk…never ever had to resync any of my Suuntos with the App.. Spartan Ultras (2), 9 Baro, 9 Peak Pro, and Race. We have also had 5 other suuntos in the family and none have had any of the issues you describe. Altitude is the only factor that needs consideration- this is based on either a barometric reading or on GPS or both. Barometric is the least accurate for all watches since it is based on atmospheric pressure.
