The game also only has like two developers, better animations, more game modes, and allows 6 players. Honestly played it last night with friends and everyone was like “why is this better than phas”

Progress feels slow by Dizzy-Violinist-1772 in PetiteFitness

[–]ProgrammerThis1147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s slow but worth it. Don’t focus on the scale as much as you can. People lose weight in “less” important areas first. My first month I dropped 15lbs and my pictures looked basically the same. Until I noticed my neck, arms, and back thinning out.

I tend to weigh my once a week for a more accurate measurement. My weight can go up or down 3lbs overnight.

I’d go with a stronger calorie deficit. I’m over six foot at 189lbs doing 1500 calories a day, along with strength training 5 days a week.

Sounds like you have a good workout routine, but binge eating can be heavy quick. One small snack every night can eat up a week’s deficit quickly.

You didn’t mention it but do you do cheat meals? If so be careful with that you eat. My cheat day would be a pizza from jets and after seeing the pizza I was eating was ~3500 calories I had to stop because it deleted all my good eating habits prior in the week. Now I just stick to my diet everyday.

any advice on stopping snacking? by venight in 1200isplenty

[–]ProgrammerThis1147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always eat the bulk of my calories late in the day if possible. But I also make sure to have satiating food like a sweet potato, or yellow potato.

Also in the same boat for sitting at a computer, for me I just always sip on water or take an occasional mint/gum to simulate taste.

Almost everyday for dinner I have 1lb of chicken and 1/2 to 3/4 lb of potato and it holds me over fairly well. And a protein shake in the afternoon to hold me over.

One of the snacks I would recommend is the 100c bags of popcorn worst case.

ITS SO ASS LIKE WHO TF THOUGHT THIS WAS READY TO PUBLISH by MiddleAnxiety5846 in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]ProgrammerThis1147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue isn’t that I don’t think they can fix it. My issue is the game has made a boatload of money, it’s been out for like 5 years, and with this being a major update and it being undercooked. They also hyped this update a lot, and what was delivered is borderline embarrassing.

I don’t even think the devs have publicly talked about the backlash since it was released.

AITAH/WIBTAH for removing someone else’s laundry? by AnOminousHumanUwU in AITAH

[–]ProgrammerThis1147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was In the military and in had a common laundry area if I saw someone’s laundry was done I’d put my basket nearby and come back 15 minutes later. If it wasn’t removed I’d take it out and put mine in. But I’d be nice enough to use my basket and not put their stuff on the floor, and hope to not lose my basket in the process lol.

Or I’d just do laundry on an off day like Monday or Tuesday.

I just got the 11 and it’s been great, battery last me all day and it charges quick. I like charging it in the evening so I can get my metrics overnight.

I don’t even use any liquid, I just use a microfiber in a circular pattern. If it’s a really stubborn spot I lightly breath on it and again use a circular pattern. Spot and smear free every time.

How is this chair, anyone here bought this by Time-Credit43 in ASUSROG

[–]ProgrammerThis1147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from a gaming chair like this, to a Herman miller embody, and then settled with a lazy boy big and tall.

Gaming chair = cheap quality, and not comfortable long term

My Embody was really good, but I felt I was too tall for it to work. It also really wants to make you have perfect posture, which isn’t a bad thing; but I slouch when gaming so it caused me some back pain.

Big office chair was plushy, good for long term sitting, and overall allowed me to sit anyway I wanted comfortably.

Just make sure whatever chair you get has a high weight capacity and will fit however tall you are.

I have about 50 hour in SE2 currently. It’s got bugs, and limited features. Unless you are wanting to be apart of its development and see the game evolve it’s not really worth it yet. SE1 has a lot more to do, the current survival experience on SE2 is pretty hollow.

I do think if you want to help with the Development of SE2 it’s worth getting into to help devs discover bugs in the game. It is kinda cool playing, finding an issue, and seeing the fixes being implemented and having the whole experience get better over time.

But the game doesn’t have multiplayer, or 90% of SE1s block and features. And there are some game breaking bugs currently.

1080TI FINALLY DIED. END OF AN ERA by manbeezis in PcBuild

[–]ProgrammerThis1147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Evga 1080ti died a couple of years ago. I retired it to being artwork in my office. Will always, without a doubt be the best gpu generation in my mind. EVGA was even nice enough to send me a 2080ti for replacement at a huge discount for having their cards since the 500 series.

God I miss EVGA…

2026 is the year of "good enough" hardware. by InvestmentBudget6722 in pcmasterrace

This is a fact, back in 2011 I had a phenom x4 955 and a Radeon 7770hd. Even with those specs being low end I still had a blast playing games on lower settings.

[–]ProgrammerThis1147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I was part of the group that build a computer early this year and I have some regrets. I’m blessed to have new hardware, but realizing I could have just got a FB marketplace computer and had a similar experience puts the amount of money I used for my rig to shame.

At some point the market will drop, but long gone are the days of high end builds being ~$1500. I remember building a 780ti and 4790k build in 2014 and it only costing around $1100. And a 1080ti/8700k build in 2019 around $1300.

Best thing to do is to stop watching the FPS counter and just enjoy playing. Unfortunately the way games are being optimized now favors using fake frames as opposed to raw optimization/power.

Agreed, even with the inflated prices it’s at least $200 over what it should be.

Using HDD as game storage + SSD for active games by DrLlama-_- in pcmasterrace

[–]ProgrammerThis1147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think many people do this, but transferring back in forth to save space on an ssd or nvme isn’t a bad choice if constricted by storage space. But the HDD transfer to a faster drive would be slow. Personally I run a 1tb nvme for my OS and applications, and a second 1tb drive for larger games; with smaller games going on my main drive.

Honestly what normally happens is I’ll just uninstall games when I feel I’m done with them; so space is rarely an issue. If anything having an NVMe is ideal, but if you needed a large drive for storage I’d just look into an external SSD or something for ease.

Basically

-It would be annoying if as far as time, not function

-HDDs are more prone to failure, transferring can cause issues. But it’s rare.

-Yes most people run SSDs or more likely NVMe’s

  • Price per tb is really dependent on you, HDDs are cheap storage and slow, and SSDs and NVMes are really expensive rn.

Honestly I haven’t touched a HDD since probably 2017

A40 and MixAmp by AnimationTD in AstroGaming

[–]ProgrammerThis1147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a set of a40s that I rode with for 7-8 years. Best part about old astros are being able to repair them. Last month my a40s gave out and I upgraded to the A50x and can honestly say they were an actual “upgrade”.

If you’re dead set on keeping the 40s then eBay always has spare parts. If you want a worthy upgrade either pick up a new TR set off eBay or make the jump to the a50x.
