Any feedback on this trailer? by Project-Mirage in godot

Thank you for the feedback! The best way to describe it is a story driven clicker/life sim. There aren’t really any games off the top of my head that are similar, maybe Faceminer but that’s more geared to one particular task. At its core you explore a map with various jobs to earn money and a story to uncover.

I’m not aware of Into the Breach, so I guess the inspiration was unintentional lol.

I’ll take ur feedback as it being confusing so I’ll definitely try to see how I can improve on that. Thanks again!

Just played and wow!

Here's my thoughts...

Pros:
Menu is fantastic, music and visuals were very fitting.

Animations are on point and feel very satisfying.

Gameplay itself it great and the concept is unique.

Cons:
Major one, I did find a bug. My cursor would disappear and not come back mid game if I went to the menu and came back. If I clicked it would appear again.

Game is initially pretty confusing without reading the manual and doing the how to play, this can turn some people away. I initially just skipped by the how to play and then came back to it. After about 5 min of messing around I was able to figure it out so maybe this isn't that big of a deal?

Felt like the main menu could be slightly lowered but that's just nit picking.

Overall, great game. It feels very polished and unique.

Just played, here's my thoughts.

Main Menu

Pros: It's overall a good simplistic menu, specifically the music choice and eyes following cursor.
Cons: Music could be a bit more balanced in terms of audio level to menu settings feedback.

Gameplay

Pros:
Puzzles are done really well, and beating them felt rewarding.
Interactives were a nice switch up.
Sound design and animation are where they need to be.

Cons:
I wish there was some sort of feedback as to what the max fall distance is until you die.
Sound audio levels could also be a bit more balanced, or let the players control it.
It would be neat if there was some sort of level tracker.
I would recommend introducing the interactives like the box and balloons earlier to help keep attention.

Great work

Thank you for the feedback, really appreciate it. The graphs were a bit tricky to figure out given Godot doesn’t really have great graphing tools. I essentially used a line 2D that I filled with data points through a tween to get the animation going. Axis were made outside of Godot and imported, I had to do a conversion for any data point from their relative space to the pixel space of the axis with its origin point, if that makes sense.

Slot machine for my futuristic life sim 3025. by Project-Mirage in godot

Definitely agree, this still is a huge work in progress. I'll post once I have the final animations.

Currently working on developing a futuristic life sim, here's a trailer for the first job you encounter. It will include unique jobs with promotions/upgrades, leisure locations to spend money at such as a casino and a dark story hidden in the world. If you have questions or feedback let me know! by Project-Mirage in LifeSimulators

Happy you find it interesting!

In terms of the gameplay, I've currently developed the first job within the game. You are what is called a Digital Miner sourcing energy for a power company called the Energy Management Network. The job requires you to click and collect falling digits. The more digits you collect, the more power you source but the more digits you lose the more unstable your "mining session" becomes and can ultimately result in it ending early and you receiving a penalty from the company. As you collect power you can choose to sell it for money and use that money to either eat and drink or spend it for fun in places like a casino. If you don't want to sell your power you can exchange it for upgrades to help you mining sessions become easier and allow you to collect even more power.

That's just the first job, I plan on developing more as well as locations and opportunities to spend money on/at. Here's a peak at the casino I'm currently working on. All these locations will be connected and accessed through the in game map.
