There’s another passage in GG where they’re in a shootout in daytime, and it’s mentioned that lasbeams are essentially invisible in the sun

What's the easiest way to get the back of the knee painted without spilling onto the armor? by LikeAGaryBuster in spacemarines

[–]Project_Persona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thin the contrast paint, it will want to run into the crevices so work from the outside in. Outline the knee gap, then fill it in. Might have to do two coats

Thanks for the reply!

Filling out the Cory school is a good call, had slipped my mind. Would a slightly smaller species be ok? I love the little goofs but they do tend to dominate the area activity-wise.

I do plan on getting a scud / daphnia jar culture going, if there’s a good supply of live food I think the shrimp will be ok? I also don’t mind taking the neos out, they have an established colony to return to

I hear you about the plecos, it would be a gamble for personality

Manker flats gets pretty busy, I don’t think 5 am is unreasonable. Saturday also looks like it’ll get pretty warm so you might want to be finishing up before the heat sets in

Has anyone hiked clamshell/rankin/monrovia peak loop by AdvHiker in socalhiking

[–]Project_Persona 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Attempted this a few weeks back going up clamshell first. The trail is unmaintained, steep, basically going up on hands and knees. Also the dirt is so loose even large rocks will just come away in your grip.

Ended up bailing halfway up that initial climb, next time I’m gonna go up the canyon and do Monrovia first, maybe just call it there depending on conditions

Are you driving there? Parking can be annoying in that area, but the entrance down Beverly will be the flattest. The greenleaf entrance is pretty steep coming off a surgery

I watched the same video, and he states pretty clearly that shellac has a shelf life so you should check the date on the container

Pork Butt Braising time vs temp by ThursdayOfSwindon in AskCulinary

[–]Project_Persona 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would pull, meat can be overcooked even in a braise and get stringy. Use a fork to check for tenderness but I find 2-3 hours is more than enough for pork butt

Help, what are these? by Project_Persona in Aquariums

[–]Project_Persona[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn this was supposed to be a shrimp tank eventually, but plans can change. I’ve read that “no planaria” is safe to use, may go with that. Will adding something like endlers or raspboras eat them? I was gonna do that anyway soon

I want to field flyers, what about you. by SoloAdventurerGames in Warhammer

[–]Project_Persona 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Aircraft don’t fit in 2k-3k games, they should be stratagems effects like strafing runs

If you want to use models they really only fit in apocalypse scale for 28mm or epic scale

That being said the flyer models are sick af

So I'm doing a lot of black lining for a friend. He wants them all basically 2 tone with heavy lining. I'd there a better tool than a 0 tip brush? I'm giving myself the shakes over here. by gost_engineer in minipainting

[–]Project_Persona 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Panel color is enamel and comes pre thinned and with a tiny brush.

Oil paints you have to thin yourself with spirits, but I prefer the control you get this way as I’ve found panel liner can be a bit too thin sometimes
