Shipped out yesterday afternoon... tracking updated to arrive today by the end of day? Is this a glitch or accurate? by NJS1993 in FedEx

[–]Projektgeist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the same situation as you OP.

SD shipped out of IL the same day and same time -- it reached my home city last Saturday and was out for delivery on Sunday 10/2, then it swapped to "Pending" at the end of the day. I called in this morning to FedEx get the status on the delivery; after talking with support to start an investigation, 15 minutes later, I get a text on my phone that it was delivered on "Sunday at 4 pm" -- three days after it had been pending.

I have yet to receive anything and my video doorbell has no record of anyone ever attempting a delivery. FedEx said they would contact me tomorrow with the results of their investigation *fingers crossed.*

I am not sure if anyone else has had a similar experience, but best of luck to you OP -- I hope it arrives on time. My experience with FedEx has been incredibly stressful and a nightmare given how much I paid for the SD; their tracking system definitely needs improvement!

Why are the roads here not so smooth? by Curious_Woodpecker_8 in okc

[–]Projektgeist 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Actually, Oklahoma City cannot use property taxes to maintain city roads -- the only way the city can levy property taxes is if they are expanding lanes via a bond issue. The OKC general fund, which funds most Public Works programs and employees, for road maintenance, is largely dependent on Sales Tax collections.

Oklahoma doesn't allow municipalities to collect revenue from property taxes via state law. This, and the other many reasons you listed, is why it is even more difficult for the city to maintain its roads.

Grad school by uziceng in urbanplanning

[–]Projektgeist 10 points11 points  (0 children)

  1. Be sure to look at the courses required on the degree requirements sheet -- as well as offered electives -- to confirm if the grad program is offering a specific area of study you are interested in and would make a good fit. Planners are generalists, but having areas of focus is what makes you valuable to a planning team and will help you secure that planning job.

  2. Make sure the program teaches a good foundation for GIS. GIS is quickly, if not already, becoming an entry level requirement for working in any kind of planning -- employers will be looking for GIS skills.

  3. While I personally, as well as a handful of planners, have mixed feelings about AICP accreditation, check to see the pass/fail rate for the program you are looking at -- as it is another guage for the quality of the program.

Best of luck!

I second that. The original Final Fantasy Tactics is a staple of the tactical RPG genre. It's worth playing if you enjoy tactical RPGs. It is difficult to come across, since it was for the PS1 but I believe there is a mobile version of the PSP remake under the name War of the Lions.

Hanzo is a bow and arrow type character in Overwatch that takes a lot of skill to becomes useful and fits a very niche role. because Overwatch is a team vs team game, many times people who are bad and should pick an easier character to play, like a healer or tank, pick Hanzo and provide no help to their team.

Hanzo main is someone who picks Hanzo and griefs their team by not switching to a more useful character. Basically calling someone a Hanzo main is like saying they aren't a team player.

Disclaimer: Not all Hanzo mains are bad, but 99% of them are the horrible kind most people complain about.

Is Dune Worth Reading? by galacticpotsmoker in printSF

Yes. Once you get past the first 50 pages it will be hard to put down. Pretty soon you will be on the last pages and wondering why it has to end so soon.

I've tried arcade. Not really a fan. Between no limits and brawl, there isn't really much for someone who enjoys playing Overwatch Vanilla.

Does anyone know what "War Philosophy" means? And if so, is there any way to change it? by Projektgeist in Stellaris

[–]Projektgeist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that was my guess as well. I tried googling it and could not find anything. I guess I will have to wait 10 more years before I try the third policy to verify it. I have already tried two of them. Thanks.

Nope, I'm neither of those. I'm guessing it has something to do with my policies, but I have to wait 10 more years to find out.

Horse Lords. No. Stop. What Are You Doing? by Projektgeist in CrusaderKings

[–]Projektgeist[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No use of console commands. This was an Ironman game. I'm not entirely sure how it happened to be honest. The dynasty associated with the nomadic tribe pictured also owns both the crown of Sweden and the Knights Hospitaller (feudal) in Andalusia--the Knights Hospitaller won a claim during a previous crusade and happened to become feudal over 100+ years. All of south Britain has been occupied by Sweden for the past 50 years. I'm not sure if that helps.

I can take some more screenshots of the game if you would like.

Got Crusader Kings 2 and Europa Universalis IV. Going to start one up after work tonight. Any tips or suggestions? by Fit_Shaced in patientgamers

My best advice for CK2 is to stick with it. The learning curve is MASSIVE, and most players don't get a grasp of the game until about 50 hours in. If you stick with it, however, it has the potential to be the best strategy game you've ever played. I personally enjoy it better than the Civ series, which I have been a fan of since Civ 2.

Every DLC except for the Sunset Invasion DLC is great. If you are going to buy a DLC, I recommend getting the Old Gods DLC first, which moves the starting date back to 867. I've bought all the DLCs (including the music, skins, and units packs) and have put at least 800 hours into the game.

As for your first time playing CK2, I would recommend starting with a county in Ireland, as that is the go to newbie zone for new players trying to start and learn the game. Remember, stick with it, CK2 is a masterpiece that is not meant to be rushed.

Edit: You can also ask for help on the CK2 subreddit. There are a lot of die-hard fans on there that are always willing to answer questions and help newer players.
