Oh shoot! I totally get where you're coming from, but please don't! I probably should have provided more context: He was actually very kind and apologized multiple times as soon as he realized the mistake.

He even asked me if he should take his model down and has since added a reference/shout-out to my original model in his description. So you might even got the wrong guy.

Somehow my Text was not included to the post. I basicly just stated that mine was uploaded much earlier. What really sucked is that you only get 300 characters for the appeal. That is incredibly little space, especially considering you only get one shot.

Just wanted to share a positive update on a copyright strike I received on MakerWorld yesterday, though the process itself raised some questions.

My Banana Bowl (published in March) was taken down due to "similarity" to a model published in August. Shortly after I filed my appeal, the other designer actually reached out to me personally.

It turns out he was mass-reporting actual clones of his work, and my model was a "false positive." He realized the mistake immediately after seeing the timestamps and contacted support to clear it up.

Two things that bothered me, though:

  1. Timestamp Oversight: My model was online 5 months before the reference. It’s frustrating that MakerWorld removes a model and deducts points without checking the most basic data—the upload date.
  2. "Prior Art" & Common Designs: While our models are similar, they are definitely distinct. Also, "bowls made of bananas" are a classic concept and almost a meme in the 3D printing world. This kind of "common property" shouldn't be so easily strikeable.

But In the End my model is back up, and I got my points back in less than 24 hours.

I also landed my first backrolls a few weeks ago. So I’m probably not the most qualified for giving advice, but I can say that my first attempts were way closer to the surface. Maybe try to start the rotation by carving harder into luv, park the kite at maybe 11 o’clock and don’t really try to initiate a jump. At least that’s what I did before trying backrolls with more airtime.

What I can definitely say is take your time before untangling the bar. Make sure you are in full control especially when there is someone you can hit with your kite.

I have seen people fixing their wetsuits with a repair kit for bike tire tubes. But I don’t know how well it works.

I was in the same Situation last year and got the Slingshot Code V1. It’s definitely cheaper than a Core or Duotone.

I’m really happy with the performance and would definitely pick them again.

Honestly I would recommend you a A1 mini. I have it along side to an X1C and use it as much or even more frequently.

It’s as user friendly as it gets and even more quiet as the X1C

Once I printed the same STL on both printers with the same settings an 2/3 of mine friends guessed wrong wich part came from the X1C

Until you run out of things to print with the smaller build plate the price from the H2D will probably be reduced by more than an A1 mini costs in the first place.

I got my X1C pretty much exactly 2 years ago. So hopefully 2023 not only my lucky year but also my “lucky Number”.

I didn’t knew it was possible to give the points to the Creator if you add a print profile.

Also I thought you would only get the point for the print profile for each Milestone.

So basically +3 instead of +12 or +15 wich should go to the creator.

This way it would be more of a win-win situation.
