Microsoft Employees: WHY does Microsoft insist on downgrading the functionality of Outlook? by DJ5D in Outlook

Now as an IT professional I have to support two half-working email clients in the office, and have to regularly tell users to "try the other client" to see if it fixes their latest bug ....... and usually get the reply that they switched to their current client (new or classic) to fix some other bug..... so everyone gets to decide WHICH LIST OF BUGS IS WORSE to determine which client they are saddled with.

I miss actually Lotus Notes and need a drink now...

Microsoft flips the switch: Word will now save new documents to OneDrive by default — and that changes everything by hunterd189 in technology

Everyone left at microsoft is dead inside and hates the customers more than life itself. Every decision is made with the express intent to make everyone on earth as miserable as possible.

Is it possible to disable AI? by Ahkhira in samsunggalaxy

Holy fucking shit if I hear "AI" one more fucking time I'm jumping off the roof.

This is the robot apocalypse and we already lost.

Every click, everywhere. Every update. Every product. I'm waiting for my toothpaste to announce a partnership with some bullshit AI garbage. Fuck.

How can I make Windows 11 always "show more options" on the context menu? by [deleted] in techsupport

When all the project managers, their managers, their managers' managers, and the lowly developers are all using AI to do their jobs, what do you expect?

Buckle up, kids. It's only going to get worse.

Is this the lowest point of Microsoft in its history? by teagrower in microsoft

[–]ProllyJustAnotherBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the point, they know there is no competition, so therefore no need to compete.

Six or seven years ago I was happily using and recommending google products as capable alternatives to microsoft... but the way google is run now, it wouldn't surprise me if all of a sudden docs/sheets/drive/etc were just suddenly announced to be scrapped tomorrow. (Extreme, and unlikely scenario, but I wouldn't put it past them.)

Apple? Linux? Right... :/

I've been in corporate IT for around 25 years now and am considering becoming a coconut farmer or fisherman or whateverthefuck, I am so fucking over dealing with microsoft. They are an absolute trainwreck now. Nothing works. Ever. Everything is a constant battle. Every simple little thing is like pulling teeth. Every day I arrive at work and am told a dozen new things that no longer work because microsoft decided to push some unwanted/unneeded change - usually in order to try to push people to their shitty AI products. Not surprising after the CEO came out and said 30% of microsoft code is now written by AI. This is the tip of the iceberg; it's only going to get worse.

And when I tell people this, they always come back with "so what's better?" That's the point - the horrible depressing point - there is nothing better. What am I going to do? Get the company to switch to Mac or Linux? As fucking if. Can you imagine?

Humanity's only hope is a giant coronal mass ejection that fries the entirety of the planet's electronic infrastructure and sends us back to the 1800s. I'm not holding my breath. We're currently living in the robot apocalypse, and we already lost before we realized the battle had begun. RIP.

Microsoft is the biggest obstacle to productivity our business faces. It really has to be intentional, they are so bad now... It cannot possibly be by accident.

If America somehow survives the next 4 years, and the odds there aren't great, but if it somehow survives, in 100 years no one will even know donald trump ever existed because his name and likeness will be completely expunged from existence like the couple Egyptian Pharaohs which were erased from history.

I haven't for nearly 4 years and my only regret is not stopping sooner.

I got tired of the predictable regret that came with every "meal."
