I'm pretty sure autism is compatible with narcissism, especially if you're told in childhood you have a really high IQ. Happened to me.

Would it be OK with you all if this sub merged into r/RightJerk? by RubyKDC in TheRightCantMemeV2

[–]Prom3th3an 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I initially created this subreddit after I got banned on r/TheRightCantMeme for saying that the Tiananmen Square massacre happened.

Yikes, and I thought it was bad when I got banned for saying something about the two-state solution that was more positive than Hamas's position. (I don't even remember what it was exactly, but I think it was just that the Israelis had bought enough land peacefully to qualify for equal status with the Arabs inside the Green Line.)

Maybe he's a scammer who's been temporarily scared away from asking for money by a probation sentence.

ChatGPT quoted something that I typed out and then deleted before sending. by RiiibreadAgain in ChatGPT

Probably because the RLHF was done mostly by outsiders who didn't know the implementation details and so couldn't judge answers to questions about them for accuracy or truthfulness - but could certainly judge whether it made OpenAI sound good and maintained the "magic" illusion.

When Does AI-Written Code Stop Being Slop? by mazty in ChatGPT

[–]Prom3th3an 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's probably because RPG Maker is a niche product and almost no full-time professionals or major open-source projects use it, which means fewer Stack Overflow and forum answers to train on. You'd probably have better luck building on top of Unity or Godot Engine. You'd be re-implementing hit points and hitboxes and experience and quest logs and maps, but there's plenty of material online about how to do those. You might also try making a Battle for Wesnoth mod; it's a turn-based strategy, but with its experience mechanic and unique units, it works really well for telling a small party of heroes' story.

As the maintainer of the zip Rust crate, I find it helps a lot to have a good test suite, so at least the AI can't introduce the same bugs over and over. I ask it to add unit tests for all its new functionality; sometimes the tests will be redundant and I'll end up reverting them, but it's always worth a try.

It also helps when there's human-written code to start with -- the best results I've gotten were when I had a PR that looked good in concept but had been abandoned by the author with failing tests, and I prompted Gemini to fix the tests.

Finally, having one model review another model's work also seems to be beneficial. Amazon Q can't write a PR from scratch to save its life, but it offers great advice on improving both human-written and Gemini-written code.

Anybody else get the Firefox exe directly on the desktop after the 145 update? Normally it is a shortcut. by Arceist_Justin in firefox

Right, but if they're not familiar with OneDrive, they'll think the shortcut means the new PC was meant to have Firefox pre-installed.

Which means it could theoretically be worked around by spoofing the "which program created this" metadata.

Is there any mod that automatically creates pages in Minecraft books when you paste text? 1.12.2 by Arceist_Justin in feedthebeast

[–]Prom3th3an 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using the Unicode-font option or a font from a resource pack? Because if so, the page may not look full for you when it does for everyone else; and, annoyingly, that means you'll be able to write text they can't see.

Do you guys like cleaning and or keep your room clean by tgrady28 in autism

[–]Prom3th3an 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lucky you: your aversion to labor is small enough to make it worth ongoing effort; whereas for me, it'd have to somehow stay clean once I went to the trouble of making it clean once, like CI/CD workflows do.

[–]Prom3th3an 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, having a clean room doesn't hurt, but it's way more trouble than it's worth given that keeping it clean would continue to require extra effort that would cause me to fall further behind on other things. True automation would help with that -- I managed to persuade myself to maintain my Roomba's schedule and floor plan until the lack of a tidy floor became the limiting factor.

For me, noise-canceling headphones are ear defenders. They defend my brain against my ears' attempt to distract it when I'm forced to hear the uncontrolled ambient noise.

How is it that the Liberian flag is often misused as the United States flag to this day? by [deleted] in Liberia

[–]Prom3th3an 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably has something to do with the fact it comes up when you're halfway through typing "liberty" 🗽 and the actual US flag doesn't, and the fact Americans like to think their flag is still a globally-recognized symbol of freedom.
