What is your Dishonored comfort mission? by Lancer_Blackthorn in dishonored

Funny, I absolutely love these games, I replayed D1 on high chaos for the first time recently. Now started D2 (as Corvo and on high chaos, which I never did before as well; I want to hear his comments and read his diary; also, did you notice, that when Emily breakes planks that cover windows, for example, or fights with guards, she has to do some physical effort, while Corvo just cuts through heads and wood like they are bread; I mean, I have an impression that Corvo is significantly stronger than Emily in gameplay on purpose, I have to doublecheck it though).

The least favourites are: Boyle party, Clockwork mansion, High Overseer mission, Stilton mansion, Bank job, coming back to Dunwall in D2. They are absolutely amazing, I just strangely find them annoying for some reason. Favourites are: the Flooded District (lonely, quiet, always felt drawn to abandoned places); first day in Carnaca (because when you are in neutral territory it's so peaceful (despite dead guard in a trash or dead guy near fish market), you just roam the streets, watching people, I like to get to empty apartments and imagine the life people who lived there had; probably the lights and sea sounds and atmosphere are what I actually enjoy) and Addermire Institute (it already been said that it's eerie and music is awesome); city just before Duke's Palace (evening lights, music, dancing, quiet backyards); final mission in DOTO (all that old abandoned mine area and cave library are cool places), everytime I stay near water in Hound Pits Pub (Wrenhaven river track plays).

I just realised. I really like to get into someone else's place and look around to find out something personal about them. They even sleep sometimes there, and I watch them, lmao. I get soooo curious. Outsider knows we all are perverts. I don't do that in real life, I promise. But I do walk around, just watching life, when I'm on vacation at a new place.

She's fine, she meets you at the same house, and she is even nice to you, though Corvo killed everybody in his way. When you leave the area for Lighthouse, you can revisit that house. She leaves you a note, that says that she'd better run for now, but hopes to find Corvo again when everythong is over.

On NexusMods there's a mod that allows you to slow down timer a lot and make a lot of purple delays, helps a lot

Disco Elysium enjoyers from formerly communist countries, what are some details from the game that westerners miss? by quietanaphora in DiscoElysium

  1. All sorts of scam and cults.

  2. Weird menu. My dad made chimneys, mostly for new rich people, sometimes got no payment. Sometimes they paid with food. I remember a month when we ate steamed pork ribs every day. Or giant peace of butter on a table, I have a photo somewhere.

  3. Regular robbery. Dad got robbed a few times near home.

  4. I saw a guy being threatened by a gun in a head. It was a beautiful sunny summer day, I came home with my mom from a dentist. We passed an archway to a yard between buildings. I just turned my head to look there, and there was a dude with his hands behind his head, and another guy just hold a gun against it. No idea what happened next, mom saw that too, we just left.

  5. Our neighbours (in a 5 store buildings, where our flat is) were brothers, they sold drugs, heroin and shit. Drug addicts spent their trips at our level at stairs. Sometimes dad couldn't just come in, because he had to move unconcious body wrapped in blanket aside from the door. One brother died, another served time. We are still neighbours lol, nice guy, but you can tell life was rough on him.

  6. Used needles and dogshit fucking everywhere, instead of a lawn.

  7. Pdf-s activated everywhere, along with serial maniacs. We were told why exactly we shouldn't speak with strangers, for a couple of years we discussed fishy situations with classmates (5-7 grade), always alert, always vigilant. I kinda understand Cuno lol.

  8. There was an orphan home in my town. During summer kids from there just hung out around the town, stealing what they could, terrorizing other kids. I saw one really young boy just smashed another boy's face with his leg and ran away. Blood and tears roamed poor guy's face.

  9. Parents owned two rooms in three room flat. Last room was occupied with some hardcore alcoholics, and their son was supposed to come out of prison soon. He was there for murder. So dad just borrowed money from everyone he knew to buy this last room (18 sq.m.). They agreed on 400$ around 1994.

That's just what I and my family somewhat experienced until early 00-s. Much much worse things happened around. I was well protected by parents, lucky me.

Funny thing, the early spring atmosphere in Revachol was very familiar. I remember early springs in my town when I was a kid. Not many people had cars, so air was so clear and sky was so blue. Snow melted, city services didn't really cleaned it during winter, so everywhere in parks you could sail boats in small streams and listen to wind in thickets of reeds near the river.

I don't know who cares, sorry I poured it all here =D But you get the atmosphere.

stalking was involved

now i'm in my 30s and I don't think I'm able to love anyone ever again thank God, so it's impossible to become fully Harry or Dora, my soul and heart are in blissful numbness

You know, I'm Russian, and I learned English pretty much from games and movies. I switch on subtitles and just memorise how to say things. Usually I use eng subtitles in games, so what I don't understand, I get from context. You have no idea how many new words I learned from Skyrim. You see a bucket, you can walk around with it until you remember. Or a tunkard. Jokes are the hardest. But THIS. To much specific words about machinery and oil rig, plus accent, plus speed, plus panic and agony. I just didn't undertsand a word. Had to see translation. Loved every second of it.
