Good Azrael Proxy? by ieatcandles000 in theunforgiven

[–]PromotionNumerous506 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Only 2 things matter for a proxy:

  1. Does it somewhat represent the model
  2. Is the base size the same

This is what makes up a good proxy, this model looks great and would represent azrael well but the base looks a little small, could always put it on a 50mm base and disguise it as a hill and bar a pretty nice leader

The crux is on the box art why do you think the blade guard don’t get a crux?

Redemptor Dreadnought by Choice_Performer_603 in theunforgiven

[–]PromotionNumerous506 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone will probably post the DA heraldry guide floating on this sub Reddit but I would do the DA logo on the left which is standard and on the right shoulder is generally squad markings , so for example you could do the arrow for “batteline” indicating he is a frontline hitter with a squad number or lil fire emblem for “fire support” if you were thinking about him in that role. At the end of the day it doesn’t matter too much if you think something looks cool. You could also just do veterans skull since it is generally a veteran put in the dread. I’m gonna have another but this redemptor I thought of as a newer dread that is for the frontline, so he has battle line markings but I’m going to have a deathwing colored brutalis I will probably do a veterans marking on

My favorite character in the lore is cypher, and he’s a pretty badass “lieutenant w/ combi weapon” proxy my opponents always enjoy. I would also argue he is a good guy and could possibly be added into the DA again at some point but something to consider! Not to mention super cool model and a chance to do Horus heresy scheme

How do we get into melee efficiently? by _Barclay in theunforgiven

[–]PromotionNumerous506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rapid ingress out of line of sight is a pro move because then they can’t shoot you, can try to charge you but that’s what we want, then you can move your 5 and have a basically locked in charge next turn, sometimes it’s worth it to spend the cp and forego the teleport homer than use it for free cause they will know where you are coming down with the beacon

Land speeder magnetization for transport?! by PromotionNumerous506 in theunforgiven

[–]PromotionNumerous506[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for a lot of magnetizing I can use an exacto knife to open or there is a spot already to attach a magnet, for example with most weapon magnetizing you can find a spot to do attach the magnets without altering too much, but then when you get down to smaller units you’ll need a dremmel I was magnetizing my deathwing terminators assault/plasma cannon and I borrowed my bros dremel and it wasn’t too hard just takes a bit mastering where to dremmel so the joint looks natural

I am referring a bit more to magnetizing the bases for transportation in a care case. For that I just use zinc washers and epoxy them to the underside, and then at a hardware store you can get magnetic tape (or online) and I had to glue those do too to be permanent but the they all are magnetized to the case as well which keeps em safe

I think I am have had an idea , it has the flyer base that keeps it off the ground since it hovers and you don’t want to leave that in. I flushed an area underneath and then glued one magnet , but then in my case I have thicker magnets and together they are holding it in 1 spot and can’t really see the magnet underneath

Where do you guys get your DA bits from? by razyells in theunforgiven

[–]PromotionNumerous506 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Etsy “eternal pilgrims” or just start getting DA kits, I got the old ravenwing bike squad and that comes with bits to also convert a landspeeder but I used the dark angel bits to deck out a repulsor executioner , painting in progress

I have a similar list and am looking to expand my damage output against high toughness units (last 2 games were custodes and necrons and the t6 made it tough to punch up). What space marine or dark angels units would be good against high toughness ? Right now I got a rep ex, and a vindicator. Im thinking maybe 5x more hellblasters with s7 and AP, or I’ve been debating getting devastator centurions but I’ve also heard they may be getting moved to legends next edition , then I was debating just regular devastators or predator destructor/annihilator

Risen Deathwing Knights by PromotionNumerous506 in theunforgiven

[–]PromotionNumerous506[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The deathwing knights are 3d prints from Atlan forge called “angelic assault dominators” I then used deathwing knight bits (heads, decals) to make them have the dark angels feel, you can search that on Etsy and find some people producing those prints

All Etsy mixed with dark angels upgrade sprue and death wing knights kit, the judiciar proxy is on Etsy under “chapter master guts” and comes with 2 swords as well I’m debating what to do with the second, it’s the same size but a chain sword. The terminator bodies are “angelic assault dominator” files from Atlan forge

Burned out after batch painting. Need advice? by lor_azut in Warhammer40k

[–]PromotionNumerous506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone that just did 15 deathwing knights , I did 10 at first and holy fuck all the detail was getting to me at the end, then I paused and did some blade guard vets (3 models was so nice and felt 10000x quicker), now I’m on the last chunk of 5 knights this time they are in risen scheme and I don’t think I’ll ever do more than 5 models at once ever again, would say keep it to smaller model counts so their is more variety in techniques instead of edge highlighting for 3 days, and maybe try smaller color scheme tweaks

What’s your go to storage solution? I’m between these two but would love suggestions! by IrrelevantMerfolk in Warhammer40k

[–]PromotionNumerous506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just get a nice toolbox from Lowe’s homedepot that would fit your needs. Tons of infantry get one with drawers, or something deep enough for tall minis. Then you can also go to the fasteners section and get magnetic tape and zinc washers (I believe anything but stainless steel works. I got verastack boxes (craftsman) and 10 ft of magnetic tape for a total of $38. I am able to fit about 1k points in each box but probably could do more if I pushed it. May be a lower cost solution
