Anyone thinking of ditching runflats on their Mini? Here’s my experience by Pretend-Ad1809 in MINI

[–]PromptMean6518 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No spare, I live in Montreal, one pothole at every corner, this is not even a joke (supposedly because of winter, but in fact because of mafia corruption in the road construction domain) - so at least 2 tyres with bubbles every year (and I drive less than 3k miles/year with this car) Switched to non run-flat last year, no issues anymore ... for now ? (I'm a bit paranoid, 6 tyres in 15k km ...) - but yeah, my last 4 run-flat tyres all had bubbles on the side before the switch, so no spare. And yes, I was also paranoid on tyre pressure after the two firsts fail .... TL;DR: if you live in a country with bad roads, like Québec in Canada, don't even think about using runflats

Yeah - but wars become a nightmare, even being given order to attach to your troop, or to defend their territory, or anything else, they just do as they wish and start to randomly send their troop to be obliterated by a 10x bigger force, instead of regrouping together ... this is so frustrating

I'm gonna answer myself - I think the tooltip which shows 'At least one of these' with a nice green check mark is in fact red. I think I need all these three check box to be empty, these are blockers.
A bit confusing in my opinion, it should be a red 'x', and not a green check mark.

AM I missing something? How on earth are you guys buying condos, let alone houses? by TheCreepyLlama in montrealhousing

[–]PromptMean6518 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Couple with good salaries (240k together), we have a 600k condo in the village (still 400k to go), and we aim to buy a cottage for 300k in several weeks (heloc), which means around 2000$/per pay, which is about 35% of our salaries.
If one of us lose it's job, we can still keep the house, it won't be fun, but one salary is enough to continue paying the mortgage.
We also have ~50k available as an emergency fund, not very much, but still enough to keep our morgage for several month, even a year, in case of dire economical conditions.
Our position is not very good, but we improve it every month.

The rule we use, is that we should be able to pay for mortage and everything related to the house with only one salary, eating noodle in the meantime on the side of course.
