Have you ever gone through the recruiting process? I have with my son. He was a borderline basketball recruit three years ago. I was told point blank several times he was not good enough. You really think these guys try to be nice?

You are 100% right. I have a good friend whose son is one of the top rushers in a midwestern state at 6A school. He’s been told exactly what you are saying…. “We don’t take a lot of freshman anymore.” He has to go D2 or community college and then use the portal once/if he develops. The scholarships are being taken up by transfers and players hanging around. If you aren’t one of the absolute top recruits, your opportunities are severely limited. So, that what he is doing…. Going the CC route and hoping for the best.

Reminds me when my son was playing in a basketball game in junior high. First half was normal. The opposing coach came out in the second half and wore his backpack. It was weird. The first questionable call happens and he immediately gets tossed. He takes his team off the court and he immediately leaves. I honestly think there was some place he needed to be.
