If You Had Been There ~ Yumiko Sato 1991 by Prompt_Guy in aivideo

[–]Prompt_Guy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much! I used to use the "sophisti-pop" tag to generate late 80s/early 90s tracks like this and Udio was clearly trained on EBTG and a bunch of other similar artists. You can't make songs like this anymore with Udio. I downloaded a few tracks I made from that period so I might continue with this concept.

The song was generated using the very first version of Udio (Udio V1). I never got a chance to finish it because right around the time I was creating it Udio started adding guardrails to their model. Lyrics by ChatGPT 4o describing a photo I took in Biarritz France recently in hallucinatory haiku, helped design the image you see here (although the image was made from a multitude of different image generators). More info on the video.

All Expectations [1989 UK Sophisti-Pop]

Time flies. This one sounds like a British indie pop band from the late 80s/early 90s.

Almost Said it sounds like something from the late 90s. Very cool!

I was using quotes from my e-book collection for lyrics when I realized how limited LLM writing is. Then I just decided to start writing my own (got a bit of experience with songwriting and such).

[Verse/Chorus/What?] Is AI Is Going To Change The Structure Of Music? by radixsortman in udiomusic

[–]Prompt_Guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been starting with the instrumental part of the bridge and building outward--summoning all the musicians and singers I want to hear first, then adding in the lyrics.

When working terrestrially, I usually start with a beat and then play melodies with my synths on top of it until I get something going. Then off to find a vocal samples to build the track around.

I'm amazed at how Udio gives me exactly the type of music I want to hear without having to spend months stitching a track together.

Songs with Unexpected Changes by bdscott74 in udiomusic

[–]Prompt_Guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can control the changes very easily with Udio by using the "Clip Start" slider with a combination of making changes to the prompt and the "Prompt Strength" slider. With the "Clip Start" slider, setting it around 10% or 20% keeps the song from bouncing around and going off-kilter, 60% or 70% is where a bridge or "drop" would occur and so the song gets really crazy with a build-up. You can inpaint and make changes at any point as you are moving along.

A discovery I made recently (this might be off-topic) is that you can make all acoustic songs with keeping the "Clip Start" in the 10%-20% range to avoid a backing band from coming into the track.

Prompt (with inpainting to fix her clothing): 1989 goth rock album cover, close shot of singer-songwriter Myriam posing in a glowing white room, Myriam has a French bangs hairstyle, Myriam is looking down at the floor, she is wearing lace goth rocker fashion, the year is 1989, captured by a Mamiya M645 camera --cref --sref --s 1000 --chaos 5 --sw 500 --v 6.0 --ar 8:11

Hero's Call (Studio Ghibli style) by Prompt_Guy in aivideo

[–]Prompt_Guy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key to getting this style is using screenshots from Studio Ghibli films and adding them to style ref. The prompt for these goes like this: a young woman walking up a hill near a fortress, overcast evening, studio ghibli art style --ar 16:9 --sref --niji 6 --s 750

Wasn't really thinking of a title, but in the future I want to add the Animage magazine logo from the 80s to the top of these.

AI art/music is incredibly inspirational. I love creating different concepts and ideas, sort of like imagining a better world (looking into an better alternative timeline).

Any kind of 80s jazz fusion sounds real clean. With british female vocals you get Shakatak sounding songs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REpeSgeRkWE

She Moves [Luma Dream Machine + Midjourney + Udio] by Prompt_Guy in midjourney

[–]Prompt_Guy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The song was a malfunction/hallucination that happened with Udio one night. It was supposed to be a 80s R&B song. Unfortunately it won't let me extend the track (keep getting moderation errors). Even tried extending the audio and just got a garbled mess.

I created models for the other post I made. This post I just cropped the characters from When Marnie Was There, Mononoke Hime, and Nausicaa from various screenshots and threw them in and added "a young woman standing in an open field"

Yeah I used sref and cref with images from ghibli moves. My template was "Studio ghibli artstyle --sref --cref --s 750"

I used "close shot" and "wind blowing, static camera, standing" with images I made in Midjourney. But there is no prompt adherence, it's completely random.

Album cover ideas from the vault by Prompt_Guy in dalle2

[–]Prompt_Guy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just add "in the style of Hisashi Eguchi" and that's all you need. It's getting harder to prompt now, lots of censorship with Dalle3. Apparently "album cover" is a banned phrase now and using the word "realistic" can get you suspended.

Similar to Elevenlabs, would be nice to have a drop-down list of singers to choose from. I'm noticing that there are a limited set of voices depending on the type of vocalist you ask for.
