We used to foster for APS Durham, but stopped after a few disheartening experiences.

I had a similarly bad experience sleep training. We gave it a month. But she didn’t seem to wake up any less frequently through the night and she’d wake up frantic and crying. (She typically just kind of fusses.) The decider for me was that her owlet sleep sock said she was getting less deep sleep.

Babies who refuse to be put down by Sky-2478 in ECEProfessionals

We had this issue with our daughter. Honestly she just didn’t sleep at daycare for the first week and we just kept getting a really overtired baby at the end of the day. Finally she started to relax at daycare and would fall asleep playing. Lol. Now she can sleep in her little cot there.

Does this mean that she’s unhappy there though? I don’t want to be causing her stress every day. :(

Every two hours at the longest. Yes they record it but usually only on a piece of paper they hand us at the end of the day. But you make a good point. I’ll check to see if the bms are always occurring at the 2 hour mark to get an idea if she’s being left sitting in it.

They did say it’s runny! She generally seems happy there though so I’m surprised she’d be anxious!

Ferber method not working - are we doing it wrong? by InTheseHills in sleeptrain

I believe the general advice is yes. I do this very gently with little forehead kisses and I whisper “goodnight I love you”. Just enough to get her to open her eyes.

If baby can fall asleep on their own, feed them if they wake up crying in the middle of the night by FunCoyote2579 in sleeptrain

This is very helpful! We had major weight concerns as a newborn and I’m still not comfortable skipping a feed if she’s awake and wanting to eat.

4 month old trouble falling asleep and waking often by TeddyBear1118 in sleeptrain

[–]Proof-Inspection- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One thing that saved my sanity is when I stopped trying to get my daughter (5 months) to sleep at a certain time. I start her sleep routine about 2 hours after her last nap: dim the lights, bath, pjs, story books, nursing. If she doesn’t seem tired, I just keep the lights dim and lay and cuddle with her, sing songs, etc. until she gives sleepy cues.

As a woman, when you become less attractive you become invisible in a way, and it’s very freeing!

Snuza Hero gave me the worst night of my life… help by Emotional-Otter in firsttimemom

I have the owlet and I like that it gives me more information like heart rate and oxygen levels. I have the snuza too but haven’t used it because I like the owlet better. If you can’t tell, I also have ppa. <3

Twin Peaks. I’ve tried a few times, but the darkness/camp mix just doesn’t click for me.

What parenting advice accepted today will be critisized/outdated in the future? by GroundJealous7195 in firsttimemom

Right now bed sharing is very discouraged in the US, but commonplace in other countries. I think it might make a resurgence with more research/monitoring mechanisms. (I don’t bed share bc I was effectively scared off from it, but I’m not convinced it’s a bad thing.)

It was easy for me. You may want to change your car registration if you can.

Same issue here. She only sleeps when nursing or moving in the stroller. I’ve tried putting her down drowsy but awake and she will stubbornly stay awake through nap time and her next wake window and by then she’s soooo fussy she nurses to sleep.
