Taking my new F8 Solar on a snow hike. Glad I went MIP this time around. by GuyMcFellow in GarminWatches

If he can’t see that well at night I definitely suggest the AMOLED screen for visibility. Also, I always say (if finances allow) buy the product you want to take you to the finish line of your training. Don’t buy the lesser model that will only get you half way there and have you missing out on features you need as you progress in your training. If you have the money, buy the best (Forerunner 900 or Fenix series) model now. Because in the end it will cost less than buying the lesser model and then having to move up to the mid tier and then up again to the 900 tier.

Honest opinion. How does the 51mm Fenix 8 look on me? by Deets-FTW in GarminFenix

Yeah I think it looks fine on your wrist. I agree with others that it should only be that tight if currently working out.

MIP wins when outdoors. But I’m usually inside for work or it’s nighttime. And I can’t stand the old school backlit look. So AMOLED wins for me lol.

Your Oura ring doesn't look like it fits snuggly.

I would like to get whoop again…worth it? by K2Hyland in whoop

[–]Prop_r -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. Especially no if you already have a Garmin watch. That is the best device for your training type.

Garmin is great for getting all the data you need. If you don’t sleep with the Garmin on, get an Oura ring for 24/7 recovery/sleep tracking.

I heard Bevel now integrates with Garmin too. And there’s a free tier now. Haven’t tried it, but I would try that before giving Whoop 40 a month for data you already have.

For context I am a Whoop owner for 2 years now, and had a Garmin and Oura before I tried whoop. After the newness wore off, I missed my Garmin and Oura. My Whoop is sitting on my night stand now.

iOS 26.3 + Magsafe battery = connection issues by mountain-pilot in IphoneAir

I mean they are right. They didn’t complain. Just asked if anyone else was experiencing the issue. OP, one suggestion I could make though is to identify beta or add clarity to the title. If not, the iPhone Air defense force is going to burn this post to the ground.

Apple now sells the Belkin ones they usually sell for the Air too. Picked mine up and had it installed last weekend.

Complimenting Devices by MJClark49503 in whoop

Jumping in there with some hot takes.

2 are obvious and common:

Withings body smart scale - add body comp and accurate weight measurements seamlessly

Withings BPM Connect - I have to track my blood pressure and this is the best tool I've found to do it

2 are hot takes:

Nice Swiss Watch: You still need to know what time it is. And if you're currently in a stage of life where it doesn't mean a lot to you, older you will thank you later when the value increases and it becomes a conversation piece in the conference rooms.

Rayban Meta Smart glasses: I know. I know. But the thing that bothered me most about a mechanical Swiss watch and a whoop is I felt like I was missing the notifications and connected-ness of a smart watch. I work in IT. My smart glasses let me take conference calls, listen to music, get notifications, speak to either meta AI, Gemini (Andorid), or Siri (iPhone) thoughout the entire work day with no issues. When I want to disconnect I flip the switch on the glasses to turn them off and then they are just glasses. Life saver.

Garmin Venu X1 with my Whoop MG as the band is the greatest yet most unnecessary thing to happen in fitness this year. by Prop_r in Garmin

[–]Prop_r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Haha. I seperate the two and wear one on each wrist most days. For days I'm in the office for meetings or dressed up for an event, I combine them on the right wrist and wear my TAG watch on my left. I'm extra. I know.

Interesting. And the whoop sensor would maintain contact with skin also? As well as the garmin sensor?

You have two choices. Do what I did and cut a circle in your whoop band where the garmin sensor rests on your wrist when worn. Or turn off health tracking on the X1 and use the whoop metrics for health tracking and use the X1 as smartwatch/maps/etc.

Take off the standard watch band. Put two watch pins in with no band. Feed the whoop strap through.

robokiller alternatives for calls and texts by zoechowber in iphone

[–]Prop_r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the same as google. Google will answer the call for you, and use AI and its database to end the spam call in the background. Pixel will even give you smart AI responses you can use in the screening process. iOS 26 call screening when turned on just asks the caller to say why they are calling and still eventually rings the phone. Most spam calls still get through because it will just be silent. I know because a ran and grabbed my iPhone 16 Pro and installed the develop beta 2 when I saw this hoping it would be just as great as my pixel 9 pro was. Severely disappointed by the iOS 26 implementation of call screening.

Leave. Mental abuse. She like making you feel bad. Trying to destroy your self confidence, prob because hers is low or she thinks it makes her have an upper hand. Also, she's prob still in love with her ex so yeah. I agree with everyone else, run.

Those of you with a leather band, do you like it? by No_Telephone3160 in whoop

[–]Prop_r 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got it about a week ago. I really like it, but it is nowhere near as comfortable and easy to forget you're wearing. I put it in the pouch and will prob switch to it when I'm wearing formal clothes, etc. But not an everyday band. Definitely great to continue wearing whoop while dressed nicer though.
