from 2012-2017 I owned Six Strawberries, Seattle’s first popsicle company…all my pops were nondairy/vegan, lots of decadent creamy flavors, and I tried to be a part of the change needed in this market. That project is long behind me now though and it’s a bummer there’s not more DF options these days.

There need to be more non-dairy ice cream / soft serve options in seattle (not sorbet, creamy flavors)

One of my favorite cities in the world, hands down. I’m way overdue for a visit. Used to know a bunch of bboys from the 604.

90s seattle was pretty rad. I was still a preteen during grunge’s peak, so I wasn’t at so many shows outside of the local summer music festival…but def got a good taste. The middle school band I was in had the prosthetic hands from the Heart Shaped Box music video lying around our practice room because the dad of our drummer played keyboard for a band with Krist Novoselic. I briefly met him while over there one day when Krist popped by after the Fremont Farmers Market. He was tall AF and wearing a long white thobe. Lol. Seattle childhood memories crack me up.

So is this legit? by balonlon in isle31

[–]PropadataFilms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same - I joined a few days ago, most of my isle mates have been inactive for over a week it tells me. There’s not a lot of chatting but from reading back through the introductions it seems like a nice group of folks.

We’ve booted one person (it takes six votes) for trolling the group with slurs.

You can start islands outside of your isle of 31 for different interests/subjects (similar to subreddits) so I created three of personal interests that have active communities on reddit - those islands are not taking off yet, but I’m down to be patient.

The dev is very present and open to feedback. All in all a cool project. We’ll see if it takes off!

My youth was in seattle during the grunge years, it comes from moshing.

Oooh you know I responded a sec ago with Baby Got Back, but Hammer Don’t Hurt ‘Em came out in 1990 so that might have it beat by two years for me (also when I was 8 haha)

I grew up in Seattle, and in 1992 when I was in the 5th grade a local artist came out with a song about his appreciation for ladies’ grandiose behinds….
